I just cleaned the oven with a strong oven cleaner. I wore a mask while I was actually cleaning and gloves. I didn't have my head stuck in the oven and the kitchen is big and I had windows open. But Dh said I shouldn't be doing it and when I looked it up I saw it is a no no. Could I have done any damage?

If the area was well ventilated like you say, I doubt it will have caused any problems. I think the smell is more likely to cause you to feel nauseous than to cause problems. Don't worry. If DH is concerned, tell him he should be cleaning the oven ;)

if it was gonna caus you problems you would have felt the effects of the cleaner ie..feeling nauseated and dizzy and sick before it would do any harm to baby

I've cleaned the oven, used bleached, glossed paintwork without a mask or gloves. Sounds like u were very careful I'm sure you'll be fine x

ive cleaned my oven, glossed (dont use bleach because of the endometriosis link) and handled garden fertiliser as well and no problems here x

I use oven cleaner, bathroom stuff, clean the litter tray etc etc with gloves and wash my hands after and I dont worry! Im sure you will be fine. I think you'd have to be inhaling it daily to do any damage
x

I very highly doubt it. You did more than I do when using household cleaners as in putting gloves on! All these chemicals in cleaners have to pass safety standards.
xx

Thanks ladies, that is such a relief. I definitely didn't feel sick from it but I just panicked a little when I read up about it!

I did it with mr muscle the other week, everything is fine wiv bubs tho as I've had a recent scan :) think u just have to be careful and not do it too often x
