Cleaning the outside of a kettle

Does anybody have any tips on how to clean the outside of a stainless-steel electric kettle? I've searched and searched on the Net, and zillions of pages tell me how to clean the INside with vinegar or lemon juice, but I can't find zilch on cleaning the outside. I'm wary of using vinegar on the outside, as it may not react well to the shiny metal.

All I do is wipe mine over with a antibacterial wipe each day and then make it shiny with a peace of kitchen roll lol

Mine's very limescaled though, especially now we've moved to a limestone part of the country.

Oh ok, did not know the outside of a kettle could get limescale. yeah try cif?

You could try viakal or something like that, I use that on my taps and it is ace....not sure how well it would work on the kettle tho, never thought of trying it.

Generally I use a Mr Muscle wipe then polish up with kitchen roll. x

Cilit bang gets rid of limescale you could try using that...havent done it myself though i didnt think you could get limescale on the outside of a kettle x

There's stainless steel cleaner out there, we had it when I worked at McDonald's, lol.. I couldn't give you a brand as McDs here uses "McDs Stainless Steel Cleaner"... all of our cleaning products were "McDonald's" or Kay -- no brands.

Toothpaste - they use it to clean jewellery so should work on a kettle.

Antibacterical wipe, cilit bang and then and a cloth with a few drops of baby oil on. Works wonders on stainless steel!

I just wipe mine over when I'm doing the work tops, pisses me off how it streaks!

cif actually do a stainless steel cleaner, in a sliver bottle, always works great x
