Hi all
At the moment we are using ovulation test sticks by clear blue to detect LH surge.
I have been looking at clearblue fertility monitor and it has very good reviews has anyone used one and did it work for you?

The problem I can see with it as it tracks your fertile days if we were a straight couple this would be fine as we could have sex on those days and increase our chances but as a lesbian couple we can only really inseminate on 3 days as anymore would be too stressful on us and our donor!

What does everyone think - worth investing in the monitor or will it be a waste for us!

Thanks
C and H

Hello 2mums. I also have the whole bd problem my wife and I have thought about investing in one as well but I heard you can only test surge once a day and I was thinking I would go crazy as I test at least twice if not more. That's one downside as I read many women tested and if they only tested once they would have missed it and being a lesbian that's something we just don't want to risk so I get the digital and the dipstick type
Hope this helps a little
4th cycle ttc
First cycle clomid
this time I hope it works
Lots of Baby dust to you
And a BFP!!

We used dipsticks all the way. Bought ours from quickpregnancytests.com and those were cheap. Used 3 or 4 sticks a day for 1 week to up 10 days each cycle, coz didn't want to miss any surge as we don't have the luxury that straight couples too and we need to pre-empt our donor.

We wanted to buy the fertility monitor but for some reason it is completely phased out in our country. But we did get our BFP without it so I think the device is good to have but not absolutely essential.

Baby dust to you!

I test once in the morning with clear blue fertility monitor and it works great for me it comes in 4 phases one line for less fertile 2 for getting there 3 for high fertility and 3 lines and an egg for ovulation within the next 24 hours..

I found it a waste of money tbh! 50 cheapy ovulation sticks from ebay for £8, just as good! I inseminated just before my surge, and the day of the surge :)

We used it! And it was totally hassle free!
Monitored every morning and went from low to surge overnight, had one insemination on day of surge and fell pregnant first time!

hey C and H did you end up buying this? we are trying again this month and its been reduced in boots so if i dont get a bfp this month we are going to invest in it anything is worth a shot x :happydance:

Utter s**te!!! Honestly don't waste your money love! Buy the cheap ones from eBay and the Clearblue digital smiley ones.

The monitor does the exact same thing as the clearblue sticks. I dismantled the reader and had a look I'm going to do a blog about it with pictures.

The worst part is you test once on the morning then if your surge starts while at work and you don't test again ( which you don't as its once a day) you miss the start of the surge and the first day to BD!!!!!

Selling mine - £55 with some stick two packs of folic acid and 4 pregnancy tests (first response)

I'll get the blog done to explain it. X

Good to know i was going to buy one of these but i'll stick to the smilly faces

We bought ours on eBay for £20
It tracks your fertility not jut smiley face or not
So it prepared you as your fertility increases
With the smiley faces you do run the risk of missing the window

So do the cheap ones from eBay you can see the line getting darker and darker.

No different! The silly "scale" on the monitor is just the same as looking at the cheap sticks and watching the line get darker - then when it's same as test line on the 20miu ones use a smiley which detects 40miu which means its on the up so get inseminating

Xx
