So whos using the CBFM?
I know Tish is....and some others considering it?

*raises hand* I convinced DH to let me get one. It hasn't arrived yet though! :(

I've just answered a question in another thread which has drawn my attention to the fact that the Clearblue Fertility Monitor may not be suitable for everyone. I thought it would be a good idea to post the following as it could prove useful for those thinking about purchasing one. If nothing else, it will help people decide whether it would be useful for them, before they spend their money. It's a direct quote from the booklet that comes with the monitor.

Limitations on Use

"The Clearblue Fertility Monitor is suitable for women whose natural cycle normally lasts between 21 and 42 days. The majority of women will need 10 Test Sticks in each cycle. However, women with irregular or long cycles may have to use 20 Test Sticks each cycle in order to detect their most fertile time.

Certain medical conditions and medications can adversely affect the performance of the Monitor. Women who have menopausal symptoms, polycycstic ovarian syndrome, impaired liver or kidney function, are pregnant or have recently been pregnant (even if not carried to full term), may get misleading results. Similarly misleading results may be obtained by women using antibiotics containing tetracyclines, hormonal treatments (eg hormonal contraception, hormone replacement therapy), fertility treatments containing human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (hCG) or Luteinising Hormone (LH), or any treatment that might affect their cycle. Clomiphene citrate may elevate estrogen levels and this may result in High Fertility being declared early in the cycle and more High Days being displayed, and in some cases the Monitor may not show Peak Fertility even when ovulation occurs. We therefore recommend that women taking clomiphene citrate consult their doctor for advice before using the Clearblue Fertility Monitor. Always read the manufacturers instructions for any medication that you are taking before conducting a test.

Women who have recently been breastfeeding, using hormonal treatments (eg hormonal contraception, including emergency contraception, fertility treatments, hormone replacement therapy), or any other treatment that might affect their cycle, may wish to wait until they have at least two natural menstrual cycles in a row (each lasting 21-42 days), before using the Clearblue Fertility Monitor.

Women who have recently been pregnant (even if not carried to full term) may still have hCG in their bodies. HCG can adversely affect the performance of the Monitor. Therefore they are advised to wait until they have had at least two natural menstrual cycles in a row (each lasting 21-42 days), before using the Clearblue Fertility Monitor.

Please speak to your doctor if you need further advice."

I've ordered mine....Hopefully it will beat AF in arrival time so I can start using it next cycle!!

I just ordered mine, should be here tomorrow at the earliest. I don't care how many sticks I have to use, I am determined to know when I O :)

does anyone no much about the boots own fertility monitor?im not sure of it will work in the same way,i just no its £60 less then the CBFM..im concidering it if it has good reviews..

Does that work teh same way?
The only boots one ive seen was a thermometer attached to a monitor thing and it showed a chart up on the screen.

Have you tried looking on ebay for the CBFM? I got mine for £51 on there by auction

this is the boots monitor,i dont no much about it,cant find any reviews online.im concidering it if i can find some positive stories about it

Yea thats the one i saw.
Its a digital version of a BBT chart, the downside to those is you dont know when you ovulate untill after it happens

Me again,

One of the things I considered when thinking about the expense of the Monitor was the fact that they fetch quite a good price when sold second hand on e-bay. Let's say you paid £99 for one, you could easily sell it for about £50. I think they are well worth that for a well looked after second hand one.

I intend to sell mine in the future and am looking after it by keeping it in it's own silk lined little pink toilet bag.

i think im going to go with opks and the CBFM,hopefully i cant miss the right days then

some of you might find this interesting :https://clearblueeasy.com/gims/content/image/other/clearblueeasy2k7/resource/flash/dfm.html

I am using one. I'm on CD22 and still no peak :(

Yeah I'm using the CBFT too - only stated using it this cycle - currently on day 8 of 25 day cycle. It has been so easy to use - it's actually made me feel excited about getting up early in the mornings!!

currently on order for me : BBT themometer,OPKS and CBFM,possibly going to try the boots fertility monitor too..anything ive missed? lol

I guess I will have to order one on line. Was looking for them at the store today but my store does not carry it. Only OPKs. But I was rather supprised to find that 20 OPK strips cost almost $25. Will def. look into the CB monitor on line. Do you think its bad to get one used?
