Clomid and cbfm

Hi everyone

Just wondering if the cbfm is accurate when your on clomid? This is my first cycle on clomid and my second cycle using the cbfm. I am taking the clomid days 5-9 and I am on cd8 today. So still got today and tomorrow to take the clomid but this morning my cbfm gave me a high reading. Assuming I even get 7 days of highs (more than the handbook says you should I think) then I am still only exactly 5 days after taking the last clomid pill when i get a peak. All just seems a bit early does it not?

Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining, I dont normally ovulate until cd 20+ so any earlier is a bonus but I am just wondering if I can trust my moniter. I might go buy opks as well so I can confirm what the monitor says? What do you ladies think?

Hi Lisa, I've used CBFM with Clomid in Dec and Jan. It does give you a longer period of High readings due to the hormones stimulation that Clomid causes. You can check out my FF chart - in Dec cycle I had high readings CD10-CD16 and got my peak on CD17. But in Jan cycle I had high readings CD10-CD12 and peaked on CD13.

Although I think my CBFM is getting confused about my hormone levels now that I'm taking a break from Clomid this cycle...

I am on Clomid and I use the CBFM. So far the Peaks have coincided with ovulation.

Hi Lisa. I am on round 2 of clomid (I forgot to reset cbfm last month- ) but I am using it this month and I started using it 2 days after my last pill (they say you should actually wait 4 days to not get false positives on all opks)
but I didnt and it was low. the next day and today it has been high... I ovulated last cycle on cd15 and Im now on cd11 so it could just be stuck on high. I have had (in the past not on clomid cycles) a lot of highs before the peak so I know it can happen!

so I guess what I think you should do is also use opks (I do too- I use the IC's and digitals) just to make sure everything coincides.. cant hurt right?

I doubt you will O so early, I think it is just confused (like anxiously said) and you'll get a few high readings til you O. but back that up with some opks too.

I didn't know you should wait until 4 days after your last pill. My monitor started asking for sticks yesterday so I started testing. LOL. I will go tomorrow and buy opk's just to be sure of whats going on.

Sorry we must have been writing replies at the same time, I hadn't noticed your reply.

I am sorry you didn't have a good time with the CBFM. I will definintely be going to buy OPKs tomorrow to double check what cbfm says now.

Hi Kels :wave: (on holiday at mo but just saw this post when I was googling!)

I am on CD 7 with clomid. I started taking it because my body needed kick starting after mc. So I suppose I took it CD 1-5. Straight away my CBFM has given a high - on CD7. I was googling 'CBFM with Clomid' and came across this post. I'll let you know when i get back off hol in 10 days how I went on. I am using OPK's too - there's a line but obviously it's not pos yet. My doc said to expect ovulation on CD 13 - 18. Then I am going to try to catch that egg! So I wouldn't have had a period since my last pregnancy on 15th Nov eeeeek! Here's hoping! Good luck girls x x
