Clomid and Metformin for PCOS

Have been TTC for 2 years now, and after an unsuccessful 2 months of Clomid, Doc has put me on Metformin AND Clomid for 4 months.
Am neither overweight or diabetic?
I've never heard of this combination, has anyone else had success with both??

Metformin is quite a common thing to be prescribed for PCOS, I had been taking it for a few months when I conceived my little boy. I was never prescribed clomid as my husband also has low sperm count and motility so they were going to put us straight on the IVF waiting list when we managed it naturally. I don't know how big a part the metformin played but its worth a try, as a low GI diet is also supposed to help PCOS maybe there is something in the way we process sugars that metformin helps?

Thanks, the low GI diet may be worth looking into aswell then! Fingers crossed SOMETHING works, been through 3 rounds of Clomid already and first time on the Metformin.... DH has said he's happy i'm the one taking all the pills, as he cant keep up with it all!!

Hey, just came across your post.

I'm a success story for this combo! My doc had me on metformin for 11 months and I got my on my 9th (& last) round of clomid. 250mg to be exact.
If you have any questions or anything I'm happy to help as much as I can, please don't give up hope because it really does work ) x

Ah congrats!!!! Been put on the combo for 4 months - 4 rounds, so here's hoping that SOMETHING comes up in that time!!
