Clomid and Ovidrell

Has anyone, or is anyone, used clomid timed with ovidrel?
I feel like I have no one that can relate. This is our first cycle using both. I conceived last year with just clomid, but ended with a mc (my 2nd mc).
Im hoping to hear success stories or to hear others stories

Hi kat - I am in the same boat. Had my first IUI this month (Dec 3rd) and I was put on clomid for 5 days and used the ovidrel shot to trigger O. I am waiting to get my blood test on Wed and this 2ww is killing me. The clomid made me feel like I was PMSing times three. I am trying to stay hopeful and can't wait for the test on Wednesday, nothing I would love more than a Christmas BFP!! DH and I have been trying for about 3 years, and I have seen more BFN than I care to admit.

Good luck to you - are you having IUI as well? Or just trying naturally?

Hey kat! I am in your same shoes. I too have had 2 MC's. I am about to get my 3rd IUI on Sat. The first cycle I took the Ovidrel shot because I was going out of town and they wanted to trigger me to O. The second month, I just O's naturally, and this month I am going to take the Ovidrel on Friday evening. It was really weird to have my hubby give me the shot, but you just do what you have to do. Do you have any more questions?? I am hopeful that the 3rd time will be charm for us!!

Are you having any pregnancy symptoms? Are you taking any other fertility meds? I am taking progesterone and it makes it really hard to notice any signs of pregnancy. I hope you get your BFP!!!

Hi roadbump...I have been somewhat nauseated the last few days on and off, and I have felt bloated, gas-y, and constipated since the second IUI. Is that normal? I feel all out of sorts this month, I feel crabby and irritable but I am blaming it on the clomid because I haven't taken it before. I am already trying to decide if we should do IUI again (if it didn't work) or just go straight to IVF. The only problem the docs can find is that my 31 yo DH has low sperm motility, but nothing wrong with me. We have been trying on our own for 3 years and I have put so much hope into this cycle, I just can't wait to find out on Wed!

Oh, and no other meds yet, they didn't put me on progesterone, I wonder why not?

That's what I used for my IUIs (I've had 2). And I think I got a BPF (lines are a little faint but getting darker), went to the doc today, definately positive and they are going to recheck my HCG on Wednesday to make sure it's increasing as it should. I just wanted to drop in and let you know it can work!

They also had me use Estradiol and Prometrium as well.

W8ing: Sounds very promising!! I always feel crampy for a few days after. I too have all those symptoms, but they are all related to the progesterone. Please give me an update tomorrow!!

W8ting- we are not doing IUI yet, this is our first round with Clomid and Ovidrell.
Well actually, I conceived with just Clomd last year, but lost it right before xmas 09.
I was put on provera to induce cycle, progesterone, then clomid, Ovidrel, baby aspirin, and now progesterone again. Wow that's a lot!
We have been TTC for 2 years now, with 2 MC's under our belt. FS believes its all hormone related.

Roadbump- good luck! I hope this cycle works for you. Its so hard with having mc's, makes u skeptical to think pregnancy actually results in a baby .

I've been testing almost every day since my Ovidrel shot (cheating, I know )...and today I am 12 days out and got a BFP. 4 days ago I received a -, so im thinking this could be real? Im not sure, so scared to think it coulc be. And to be honest, not too overly excited, thinking it could end too . Any thoughts about testing 12 days out?

Hi hun,

I used Clomid with Ovidrel when I had my IUI's. The Ovidrel was given when my egg or eggs were ripe around 17 mm. When the Ovidrel is given you will ovulate within 24-36 hours.

Thanks chris . Im more concerned with wether my bfp is real or not, hopefully it is! I know I ovulated, I felt it and it was confirmed by ultrasound. I guess I just have to tuff it out another 4 days!

Well my blood test was negative today. It's weird, after 3 years of trying I honestly thought I felt different this month. The Dr. is already talking about starting round 2 of IUIs whenever af shows up here, and we are going to do it, but the emotional toll is higher than I thought it would be. I thought I was a pro at taking BFNs, but today was a lot harder than any of the others...

...im so sorry. It just sucks, no way around it. Its so emotionally draining. Hoping, thinking, wishing, disappointing, tiring...ugh. And I too feel like sometimes the BFN are different than others. When u really think its for real, and its not, that's devistating.
Try and keep in good spirits. Enjoy the holidays, have a drink or two , and try again next cycle! Now you know what it all entails, so you'll be a pro

So pretty sure im pregnant! Dark blue line 14 days past trigger shot, even after testing negative 7 days out!
