Clomid cycle - few questions

I was spotting 4-5 days before AF for the past few months, my gyn suspected low progesterone, so he put me on clomid last cycle on CD3, I had a scan on CD15 and I was ovulating & everything seemed fine, we were not actively trying this cycle, the dr suggested clomid to eliminate unnecessary tests as I had too many with my previous dr for recurrent Mcs. I'm on CD23 and spotting did not start which usually start on CD23-24

When should AF start after taking clomid? Should it be a normal 28 days cycle? I'm getting mixed answers online, if I was ovulating on CD15 are there chances to get pregnant a week later ?

How many days after ovulation do you normally get AF? Mine is normally 12 days after and it was the same with clomid and without.

It seems a bit strange to take clomid but not try purely because it is not something you want to be taking for a long time. Normally no more than 6 cycles in a row and then you need to take a break from it.

Did you BD within the few days before cd15? If so you could test from about cd26.

He put me on clomid as the quickest way to check if the spotting is caused by low progesterone. I had 2 D&Cs so the spotting could be caused by scarring. I wasn't keen on going for a hysterscopy, I was diagnosed with pcos in my early 20s, so tracking my ovulation based on dates is a bit tricky, he also wanted to make sure my tubes weren't blocked and I don't have serious issues with ovulation other than low progesterone.

If I start spotting again before my period I will have to go for a hysterscopy to check for scarring.

I will not take clomid again anytime soon, we will not start actively trying before September, the MC last year ruined my son's summer vacation, we all need a proper vacation before dealing with pregnancy issues again.
