clomid first cycle

hi ya,i had my first cycle of clomid this month of 50mg day2-6 had my first scan 2day and had 2 follicle each where around 17,9mm big and its cd10 is that good?

what did your doctor say? not really sure your route, and i only have my specialist to compare by

are they going ahead with IUI ect? did they say that naturally would be a good chance?
my FS wanted 19mm by CD14. i know nothing of this science but it seems pretty close with a few days to spare!

hope things went well the last few days . just wanted to shoot you a reply, even if it wasn't helpful!

Hi Lina, That is very good, I am on my second cycle of Clomid but I dont get monitored, Clomid is good for making you have good quality eggs and increases your progesterone so only thing I would suggest is using some preseed as a fertility lube as sometimes clomid can cause hostile CM, but your follies sound good to go, are you having a shot to make you Ovulate?

I O'd bang on CD14 and my cycle was 28 days, but I did encounter a very large corpus luteum which was painful and I ended up in A&E, I am really hoping that doesnt happen again this month..........so I am trying it again.

Fingers crossed for your 2 follies and I really hope they both get fertilised!

hi ya,i'm on cd 15 now and its all wierd.lol coz on cd12 i got told i ov when i had a scan now 2day when i had another scan the nurse said i got 2 follicle one is 17mm and one 21mm.she was really nasty coz my hubby and me where confused and wanted 2 know whats goin on but she only said the whole time i dont know...very helpfull dont know how she got her job!!!!we have now another scan on wed.that will be cd17!we where tryin for a baby now for over 5 years and started with hospital last year in feb.we had loads of test,i even had the op where they check ya tubes but everything came back fine apart from one of my tubes is a little damaged but not bad so shouldnt be a problem.thats why they put me on clomid now 50mg!omg crystel,that sounds painfull how did that happen?i hope it wont happen again for ya.what kind of shot to ov???i think if clomid dont work with us we will have ivf but i hope we dont!loads of luck 2 both of yaxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Lina,

I am so sorry you have been TTC for 5 years now and I like you have had operations and every test you can think of.....I waited 5 years to get my tubes reversed and paid privately to get my tubes re-connected in September 10, my DH has a very high sperm count and although both my tubes are back together one is better than the other?.....I was prescribed Clomid to help my cycle length and the quality of my eggs as I am now 38 and time is rushing by...............I think you should be given a shot HCG shot (pregnyl 5000iu) whilst your follies are ready in size, ask them when you are there for your next scan if you can see a Doctor to give you this shot to hatch your eggs, you then Baby Dance like hell afterwards.......5 years is a long time and you should be receiving more support and guidance than from a silly nurse who doesnt have the slightest clue what you are going through right now!!!!......Dont leave until you get some answers hunny.........Fingers crossed for you.xxxx

Regarding the CP.......When your follicle releases an egg the empty follicle reseals itself (Corpus Luteum) and fills with fluid to feed the baby until the placenta takes over......well mine resealed filled up so much it grew so much until it burst again......didnt get any explanation why it did this but I must of layed one hell of an egg, as I was in so much pain, I couldnt even Baby Dance to catch it............Waste of a month really............I pray it doesnt happen again, as I didnt even Ovulate last month without the Clomid??? xxxGood luck tomorrow hunny, please let me know how you get on? xxx

hi ya hun, went for my scan 2day and everthing looks fine.i deffo ov now but since last night i had the worse pain in my belly.the doc said that will be coz i ov sum woman get horrible pain!i slept now for a bit and feel better!next week i will have my bloodtest 2 see if there are eggs!cant wait 2 find out and hope clomid worked the first time.dont wanna have that pain again next month! how are u gettin on?xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Lina, Thats GREAT news........well as long as you got the baby dancing in before you popped your eggs..........I really hope so.........I know its hard to BD when you are in pain but we always find a way to get the deed done...lol

Your bloods should be taken on day 21 which should be the appt you have next week when they will check your progesterone levels.......I have mine taken too and mine were 164 on my last cycle of clomid which is really good.........which showed I did Ovulate. Fingers crossed for this month, like I said I am not monitored via ultra sound, only day 21 bloods so apart from me temping and having pain I dont get to see my follicles........

Keep me posted with your symptoms and progress and I really hope you get your wish hunny xxx

Sorry I missed this........Yeah a CP looks the same as Follies, however mine was larger and still full of fluid but was collapsing...wierd things happen in our bodies eh!
I take Clomid on CD2-6 and O on my own.....I can feel my Ovaries "Bubbling now" as I call it.........so should O within the next 6 days hopefully, I will know about it when it happens............I will keep you posted.xxx Keep Well and Good Luck you deserve this soooooo much xx

Hi I'm also on my first cycle fertomid 100mg. after trying for 6 months after tubal reversal. I was diagnosed with PCOS in dec. I took fertomid day 5-9 and am going for scan in about an hour to see if there are any follies. Currently CD13. So I'm hoping this is it and we can have success this cycle. I don't like the side effects of the meds!

Good luck Playgirl on your scan, hopefully there will be some follies there waiting to hatch............Let us know how you get on...........On the side effects thing........Mine on Clomid has been different slightly to my previous month but I think when you are taking meds which effectivley change the chemicals in your brain, the side effects could effect you in different ways constantly......My side effects havent been too pleasant this month either, but the positives outway the negatives for me at the moment............Best wishes for your BFP....Fingers crossed...Have faith it will happen.xxx
