Clomid for irregular cycles???

Hi Ladies

My cycles so far since coming off the pill this time have been 28, 28, 37, 33, 32, 42 days

would you say i have irregular cycles and can ask my doctor for clomid to help me regulate my ovulation.

I really dont think i ovulate during most my cycles

has anyone else been put on clomid for irregular cycles? did it help?

Hi Bird,

I don't have any answers for you, sorry. Just wanted to mention though that i read somewhere that Clomid can make endometriosis worse due to the fact that endometriosis thrives and grows during ovulation. Might be worth having a good read about it before going to ask your Dr?

Anyway am sure you know a hell of a lot more about it all than i do!

My cycles are very regular, sometimes to the hour, LOL!, but I take Clomid for toher reasons. I guess it would be the reason why you are irregular. I know a girlfriend who was prescribed Clomid because she had no period from the Depo shot, and then she got PG. Have you taken any OPK's to determine ovulation? It is probably a good idea to, or to temp, as your DR will want all the info you can give him. If you are ovulating on your own, and it is just that you are irregular, I am not sure if Clomid would help you??? BUT, I am not sure.

Yes i have been referred

First appointment was in august and they sent me for blood tests, but i dont get the results till my next appointment in November which is sooooo far away

My cycles are getting worse and i dont think i ovulate...if eva

never seen a positive on OPKs, never see any EWCM other than 1 month, dont get ov pains or anything so i'm just confused and hoping clomid might be the answer

how irregular were your cycles? how long have you been using it?

From what you have said, I would at least mention it to your DR and ask for a referral to a specialist, whether that be a fertility clinic, or an OB/GYN, which is what I see.

i came of the bcp in sept 07 and went, 45, 56, 35,35 51,35,34,33. they are starting to settle down now to around 33 days and im on my second cycle of clomid. this month i noticed my cm was ew and i got pos on an opk.

when i was referred originally we had only been trying 8 months so they said carry on for another 3 and when i went back after that they saidok we'll precibe u clomid cos my cycles hadnt settled down

Hi Bird,

Hope u don't mind me jumping in here but I am very irregular and my doctor has referred me to a specialist for Clomid (haven't seen specialist yet though). She thinks I ovulate on my own, just not very often.

Im irregular to the point where I have no AF for months on end. And I came off the pill in August 2007.

So I would say that Clomid is an option to discuss with your g.p, not 100% sure though.

And I would definately recommed charting your temperature to pinpoint ov. I started last month and was amazed that it worked. I took my temp with no idea when I ovulated, and couldn't believe it when AF turned up exactly when Fertilityfriend predicted.

after my mc in mar08 i ad 2normal 29day cycles...since then ive ad a 38-30-37days cycles, i was at consultant4soamt eles and they did hormonne bloods and it turns out i have low estrogen !! gp is guna do cd21 as the last test werent just 4hormones so dont know wot cd they were on...gp told me when i av cd21 if there still low and irregular i b seeing a gyne and get clomid...big shock2me!

since coming off bcp in Aug 07 y cycles have been all over the place, i can't remember the first ones before I started charting other than they were around the 35 mark, since charting they've been 31,34,32, 46, 32,34,27 and this one. I thought id regulated around 32 ish but clearly not as last and this look like they're gonna be 27/28. I reckon if i didn't have a LPD they would still be around 32 as im ovulating earlier now, prior to this and the last cycle i wasn't ovulating til cd23-27. I hoping that they'll prescribe Clomid for me when I go back next wk.

I have just had my bloods done on CD 26 and CD 2 to check different hormones so i'll just have to wait and see what the infertility clinic say when i go back in November.....such a long wait just to find out blood results....i'm gonna press for clomid then and hope they give it to me...would be so nice to have a regular cycle.

I did temp a couple of months ago and then my thermometer broke and i need to get a new one.... anyone brought one from boots or somewhere like that?

using a CBFM for the second time this month and hoping for a better result than last month
