Hi ladies,

I had a doctor's appointment today. After jotting down my cycles, he realized that I haven't ovulated in the past 3 cycles.

So, he prescribed Clomid. Along with Provera to start my cycle in mid-July :)witch: came twice in June: June 4 and June 22).

I am in complete shock and my world has been turned upside down. I cried all afternoon.

I don't know what to expect while on Clomid. I would appreciate it if you share your experiences.

I am very upset...

Ive not been on clomid so cant offer any experiences, i hope it works for you :hugs:

I take Clomid, I have felt absolutely fine on it, you have to be a bit careful as it can cause ovarian hyper-stimulation which is very painful. I notice a bit of extra twinging when I am taking it but no real effects. Occasionally I feel a little bit nauseas too but it goes away after about an hour. Clomid has done great things for loads of my friends so try not to worry hunni xx

I love Clomid, it helped me get pregnant (after 7 rounds of it lol). :D

It has some wierd side effects so make sure you read the leaflet thoroughly. Good luck and try not to worry too much! xxx

Hi Choco

I have endo too...did he said this can affect you ovulated? and how did he know you def werent ovulated? did they do blood tests?

If clomid helps you get pregnant its well worth it chick xx

Aww hun, I've no experience of clomid myself but from what I've read it seems to work wonders. Try to stay positive, this means you are one step closer to getting your :bfp: And at least your doc is trying to help, mine is doing nothing for me! Big hugs to you

Hi Choco,
I've just finished my forth round of the stuff and am having a break next month as I'm seeing the doc early to discuss more investigations.

The only thing that I would say irritated me the most were two things first was the hot flushes which came from no where, I tried taking it in the evenings for the last two cycles and it helped enormousley, so I would recommend doing this. Secondly I don't know if this was a side effect but I was very irritable mainly at work.

Apart from these absolutely no other side effects and so many people ahve had good results on it, so good luck and if ypu have any more questions please ask! X

Try not to worry or get upset, lots of the ladies on here have been prescribed Clomid and its helped lots of BFP's along the way.

Hi I'm in much the same situation as you, :witch: also got me twice this month, 1st and then 21st She's obviously got the  in her this month!!

Dr has also prescribed me clomid because I'm not ovulating, so I'll start it next time :witch: comes.

PM me if you want to chat x :hugs:

Babe - I adore Clomid!!! I feel Pregnant on Round ONE!!!!!
Couldnt beleive it, my world is complete. I'm now 11+4.
I was ovulating but cos my cycle was around 38days long it was difficult to pin point when i ovulated! So Consultant gave me clomid and bob's ya uncle it worked first go.

Can understand your upset but look at this way, you have been prescribed a drug that works and thats a good thing, i know most people wanna do it the Natural way! However i'd of moved mountains to full pregnant and would of drank and toke god knows what if it was proved to help.

Good luck honey let me know how it goes for you

I am on Progesterone to get my period and Clomid. This is my second round and I have high hopes. Even on Clomid (50mg), I did not O on cycle one but this month (once AF actually comes from the Progesterone pills), I will be trying 100mg.

Good luck to you!!!!

Dh's friends wife gave birth today to a baby concieved with the help of clomid.I think she only had a couple of cycles on it!

Good luck!

And thankfully I haven't had any weird side effects. Some mild hot flashes, especially at night, but nothing I couldn't handle. I was also scared to take Clomid, but it has been good to me. I read somewhere it's better to take at night, which is what I've been doing. Don't know if this has anything to do with me not having SE? Good luck!!!

Yep, he said endo can affect ovulation but my problem is apparently hormonal. All of my hormone levels are low, including estrogen. He did the blood test 1 month after I stopped my progesterone BCPs so he thought the levels were low because of the pills.

He asked my cycle lengths for each month since stopping the pills and I had 3 18-day cycles so he said I wasn't ovulating. And before the 18-day cycles, I had a 36-7 day cycle.

He didn't repeat the hormone tests though...

Why aren't you changing your doc if he's not helping you? I'm so sorry to hear that...:hug: to you too...

I am already in pain every day because of endo... I hope it doesn't make it much worse... Keep your fingers crossed for me that I'll feel fine too!

My main concern is the mood swings. I am prone to them already so I'm afraid it's going to make them worse...

Thanks for the tip, taking them at night is a great idea.

Wow, you're my cycle and Clomid buddy...

:witch: got me on the 4th and then 22nd...

My doctor gave me Provera to start :witch: in mid-July. He said I shouldn't have to wait for the :witch:

Also, he told me to raise my hips with pillows and lie down like that for a while after BD. I didn't think it mattered but he seems to think so...

:hugs: I'll PM you if I can find some time, I'm about to move so it's getting pretty hectic!
