CLOMID, my new journey - Join in ladies!

Babe - I adore Clomid!!! I feel Pregnant on Round ONE!!!!!
Couldnt beleive it, my world is complete. I'm now 11+4.
I was ovulating but cos my cycle was around 38days long it was difficult to pin point when i ovulated! So Consultant gave me clomid and bob's ya uncle it worked first go.

Can understand your upset but look at this way, you have been prescribed a drug that works and thats a good thing, i know most people wanna do it the Natural way! However i'd of moved mountains to full pregnant and would of drank and toke god knows what if it was proved to help.

Good luck honey let me know how it goes for you

You're right, at least there IS something that helps.

I am on Progesterone to get my period and Clomid. This is my second round and I have high hopes. Even on Clomid (50mg), I did not O on cycle one but this month (once AF actually comes from the Progesterone pills), I will be trying 100mg.

Good luck to you!!!!

Good luck to you too! I'm also going to take Provera (progesterone) to start :witch: this month and then take Clomid.

Hopefully you'll O and conceive :baby: this cycle.

Dh's friends wife gave birth today to a baby concieved with the help of clomid.I think she only had a couple of cycles on it!

Good luck!

Thanks for sharing! And congratulations to your DH's friend's wife. What joy must she feel right now! :happydance:

And thankfully I haven't had any weird side effects. Some mild hot flashes, especially at night, but nothing I couldn't handle. I was also scared to take Clomid, but it has been good to me. I read somewhere it's better to take at night, which is what I've been doing. Don't know if this has anything to do with me not having SE? Good luck!!!

That's great! I'll take it at night too and keep my fingers crossed.

Good luck to you too!

Yep, he said endo can affect ovulation but my problem is apparently hormonal. All of my hormone levels are low, including estrogen. He did the blood test 1 month after I stopped my progesterone BCPs so he thought the levels were low because of the pills.

He asked my cycle lengths for each month since stopping the pills and I had 3 18-day cycles so he said I wasn't ovulating. And before the 18-day cycles, I had a 36-7 day cycle.

He didn't repeat the hormone tests though...

Hey

Did you mean you had a 36 day and a 37 day cycle.....thats what mine is at the moment, and my temps are rubbish this month so i dont think i've ovulated..... do you temp?

And as requested tons of :dust: coming your way and to everyone else.
Can i give one more bit of advice

Consultant said NOT TO do OPK's or Temping she said that we should just Make love every 2-3 days and that its stressful enough so try relax and dont pin your hopes on a pee stick.

Hi Carlyanne

I have the same sort of problem...37 - 38 day cycles....i didnt realise that clomid can help this....i have an appointment at the fertility clinic in aug

Did you notice anything different the month you tried clomid and got pregnant....did you wait till your cycle was 37 days and then test or you knew before as it may have made you ovulate earlier?

Thanks congrats xxx:hug:

Hey you,

Try not to be too depressed about it, I was so excited when I was prescribed it cos at least it means we finally have a real chance of having a baby and not just guess work. Had me first cycle last week. Been in for the internal scan where they measure the follicles and thickness of the womb. That happens on day 12 and the nurse said everything was happenng in the right way. Been given prediction kits for next 4 days then back on Monday for another scan if I haven't had a surge. Did first pee on a stick today and no surge yet but will keep going over the weekend.

Good luck and look on the bright side!

hey i had a hosp ap yesterday and have been prescibed clomid also, i dont know what to expect either. pm if u fancy a chat, we can go through it together xx

I took 2 rounds of Clomid before moving on to injections. I had some mood swings and hot flashes, but I think that was the only major side effects from the Clomid.
I hope it works for you and you get your :bfp:! Try not to feel down about needing extra help (drugs) to get pregnant. There are several very supportive, wonderful women on this forum who are going through the same thing. Some of us have really screwed up hormones and need that extra bit of pharmaceutical help to get our bodies under control.

Sorry for the late reply.

I did for a month but that month my fever after what I thought was O remained over 98 and I always felt pretty hot and even had hot flashes. But I wasn't pregnant and I actually found out that I did not ovulate at all. So I stopped. Now I'm just using the OPK.

Thank you

Thanks for the dust :happydance:

I was always against OPKs and temping. But I thought I should give it a shot. I already stopped temping after a month, too stressful.

The OPK is going the same way, especially since I have to do it first thing in the morning, so if I went to the bathroom during the night, I try to think how long ago that was... Sigh... So, I'll probably give it another month but if it continues this way, I'm just going to stop.

I advocate making love every 2-3 days but my DH has been really stressful this month so we thought the OPKs would help us, if I ovulate.

So far, no sign of the O... Sigh...

Thanks for the support :hugs: Good luck to you too!

Also, you're lucky that you're having u/s. Mine said it wasn't necessary the first 3 months... Not what I thought but oh well...

Hear hear! I hope your IUI works, I know quite a few girls who directly moved on to injections and now are cuddling with their babies. Lots of :dust:

I was really pleased to get it too.
The side effects are worth it, hot flushes ( we all get them in the end anyway) are a bit of a pain and I have very funny dreams ( I know other people who have had wierd dreams too..)
I had a bit of nausea and it got my hopes up,,,especially when my boobs got sore but I was mistaken.
I am going to keep going with it, despite the constant blood tests and internal scans it is our last leg up.
Good luck.

Hey there.

Just wanted to add my two cents. We just got our BFP on our third round of Clomid. First two cycles we were on 50 mgs and the last (and successful cycle) we were doubled up to 100mgs. Also, on this successful cycle, I didn't get a positive OPK, so didn't think I had a chance, but my doc said Clomid in high doses can affect the results of an OPK - so don't trust them alone!

Lots and lots of luck.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I was feeling so sad today because it's CD 18 and still no positive OPK. This was just what I needed to hear today :)

I hope you have a comfortable pregnancy and a healthy baby. Congratulations! :happydance:

Good luck with the clomid. I'm on my third round not had many side effects just hot flushes and a bit emotional when AF has come but to be fair that is probably me getting my hopes up rather then the clomid. Heard many success stories so fingers crossed for all of us on clomid - IT WILL WORK!!!
