Clomid not sure what to expect??

Hiya Girls
Some of you will know i had my 1st appointment with my FS Wed evening
Im going to have a HSG nxt month,then he said he wud put me onto Clomid the followin month for 6months,he said i wont waste your time by startin you on 50mg,i think its best i start you on 100mg
He did go into detail of side affects,eyesight ,hyperactive ovaries,multiple birth etc,but i wanted to ask those of you who have took it or know someone who has,did you/they have any side effects?How bad were they and of course just as important how successful was it?
When he said multiple births me and MrC laughed,im a twin,twins run in my family,and his mum is a twin and has twin brothers aswell Plus my sister in law just had twin girls 6months ago
He said dont laugh,how wud you feel,i said i wud b happy!!Then we explained our family history and kinda said Oh Boy this is gonna b fun treatin you

I think the common ones are headaches and hot flashes, but I didn't have either.

Can i ask you wether you took them at nite,or morning?
Ive heard if you take them at nite you can miss gettin the hot flashes,headaches and cramps? I dont know?
Does it make any difference?
We have been tryin hard since my mmc in August 09 and nothing!!
So frustrating isnt it!! Im usually so fertile too!
Im really hopin this will do the trick*fingers X*

100mg did not work, so I'm going back to 50mg

I wonder why they are lowerin ur dose again?
Is that meant to trick the brain into thinking somethin else?

I took them in the morning this time as last time the sweats at night disturbed my sleep too much. The hot flushes are pretty intense but this time it looks like im set to ovulate so its all worth it!! Good luck xx

I had a scan friday, follicle is at 15mm and needs to about 18mm to release,the lining was also 7.3mm so looking good! Having lots of 'burning' cramps which others have said sounds like follie is growing and having ewcm
Very excited and impatient as ive never ovulated as long as weve been ttc!! xx

OMG!! Thats exciting!!
I didnt even know they wud scan you when on Clomid!!
I really hope my FS says he will!!
Did they give you any idea how long it wud take to get to 18?
Can i ask what CD you were on Fri?
Have you only noticed these burning crams since takin Clomid?Or have you always known when you Ov?

You will do fine. And yes, some doctors will monitor you on this. My doc will be doing labs and ultrasounds to make sure I don't hyperstimulate and to catch the window to lock in IUI.

Im worried about the sweats,headaches and mood swings!!
I work in a customer service based environment!Hope ive a job at the end of this!!lol
I must ask my guy if hes gonna keep a eye on me,i wud love to know when im ready to OV!! That must b so exciting!!

DH and I went to our FS yesterday (first appt!). I've already had the HSG and hormone levels checked by my OB/GYN. So, FS suggested Clomid and IUI for my next cycle. We didn't want to start Clomid but now we are getting excited about being able to do something more. I am also worried about the side effects. FS joked that Clomid can make you psycho. Wonder what work will be like!

Babycarey: FS is going to monitor me. Going to trigger O with a shot (based on the ultrasound). Then go in for IUI 2 days later (I think). We have to go in for 'training' to make sure we do everything right.

Well I wasn't being totally honest there, it's Clomid 50mg CD2-6 + (self) injections at CD4, 6, 8 and maybe CD10. I'm not sure what the injections is, maybe FSH?

I've always ov'd but it can be very late. I got pg with one of those late ov (CD36), and mc'd at 10 weeks, so we are looking for ov at around CD15, anything later than that, the cycle is cancelled.

We have male factor problem as well (1% morphology, 22% motility, abnormal viscosity), so it's not easy

This was my first cycle of clomid and i had not ill side effects. i made sure to take it right before bed as that was recommended to me to lessen the side effects. best of luck to you!
