clomid not working

hi ladies,

howare you all?

well here goes af has showed her ugly face this morning
im due to start my 5th round of clomid tomorrow but on the other hand fs wants to see me next monday very scared becouse ive gota feeling he going to take me off clomid and tell me ivf is my only chance now.

any advice on what i could do would be very greatful.

Ahh hun, i'm sorry that your still not pregnant. I thought the doctors give 6 months of clomid before moving onto the next thing.

Its such a horrible situation as we all feel like this is our miracle drug and we will fall pregnant but don't really think about what could happen afterwards if it doesn't work. It scares the hell out of me to think about the next step after this. My doctor did tell me that a lap and dye would be next for me next year so i would say they would want to do that for you too (if you haven't already had one).

Surely the dr would let you carry on with clomid whilst you wait for IVF anyway.

So sorry to hear you havent got you BFP with Clomid so far!

My advise is to relax and if you take you 6th round then do so WITHOUT charting, or temping......
Just have sex every other day and smile!!
I conceived with my Daughter with clomid, and yes it was on our 1st cycle but my consultant said NO to charting, just to go out have fun and relax.

Good Luck, oh and get your OH to take ZINC, to boost his boys xxxxx

Awww my body did not like Clomid either I hope you find something that works and you get a BFP!

I am on round 7 of Clomid and so far no luck. Doc says we will do 9 rounds total before taking the next step. Now if I could just get this cycle to end so that I can start round 8 we'd be doing good.

Hi Angie

Just like one of the other girls has written, do you know if it is making you ovulate? When I had clomid they monitored me with scans, trigger shots and day 21 bloods. This told me that 50 mg did not make me ovulate and 100mg did make me ovulate. It still didn't work for me though... Also, depending on what your circumstances are, they should also offer you IUI before IVF which is less intrusive and worked for me 2nd time. We were offered 3 free IUI and one IVF attempt although we didn't need it in the end.

Lap and Dye or HSG should also be done to check that your tubes aren't blocked. If you aren't getting all of this, you should ask your FS about it.

The point I was trying to make is if you are ovulating - its working! Thats what its supposed to do.

A BFP is only a by product of the fact that it has made you ovulate. X

1st round i was on 50mg and had no follis so fs put me upto 100mg for the last 4 month and ive had follis at between 13mm & 18.5mm and ovulated but nothing happening.

yep ive had a hsg and a lap and dye my diagnosis was hydrosalpinx, tubal blockade and had a laparotomy and tubal repair all in the past 7 month i have a excelent fs who everybody ive spoke to says im very lucky to get a place with him.
