Clomid overdrive - too many follies!!

I'm currently trying to conceive my second child - I had my first one two years ago after taking clomid. I have an AMH of 1.9 (aged 38) so my specialist wanted me to go straight on to IVF, but I said I wanted to give clomid a go first. Started on 100 mg this month, went in for a tracking scan today and there were FOUR follies ready to pop. I've been put on a sex ban!! Specialist wants me to drop down to 50mg next month but am now worried about taking any... I'm really not excited by the prospect of multiples... Has anyone else been through this?

What days are you taking the clomid?? the effects of clomid differ depending what days you take it. So if you take ing 3-7 it is to get more follies......5-9 is to increase the quality/maturaty of 1 or 2 dom. follies.

Thanks for replying - I've been taking them from day 2 - 6! I only had five antral follicles so I don't think my specialist saw this problem coming!! Will speak to him tomorrow about taking it later in the cycle.

2-6?? Dang thats early. I think i have only heard of one other lady on this site taking it days 2-6. I hope everything goes well withy our appointment tomorrow.

Are you in the uk ? Cd2-6 seems more common over here. When I was on clomid they only put me on 25mg and I produced two follicles on that. I'd probably try one month at a lower dose and track it and see how you get on xx
