I am on my 3rd month of clomid 50mg, for the past 3 days atleast I have been getting excruciating pain on the right hand side of my abdomen and electric shock type pain in the rest of my tummy. Could this be an effect of the clomid or something else? I have my day 21 bloods tomorrow and specialist appt on friday, do I wait or do I go see my GP sooner?

Hi Nikki,
That's not good your having pains. Depends on how bad your pains are really. I'm on my 4th round of clomid and each time around ovulation time i get a slightly painful lower tummy(kind of where my ovaries are). I was told if the pain isnt too bad, like your aware of it but its not excruciating then thats ok, its just the ovaries creating large follicles. But if the pain is excruciating to the point your brought to tears then it could be a cyst that's possibly burst. It's most likely the result of the clomid too. Before i was on clomid i hardly had any pains, once i started clomid the pains began. See how you go i guess, if it gets worse see a doctor...if not wait til friday. Good luck hun hope your pain goes away and a baby is created!!! :hugs:

I agree with rynie. I had that happen to me last month and it was a cyst that had burst. Its not fun. I had one a few years back too before we started TTC and i had the pain for 5 days. I ended up in the emergency room over it. Thats good you are seeing your doctor today. How did it go?

Pain got extremely intense that night then by morning it was completely gone so I have no idea what it was. My specialist appt will be in 2days time so will talk to him about it then and hopefully it was nothing too bad to worry about

That realy does sounds like an ovarian cyst. but as long as it has already burst it wont cause harm or pain anymore. it shouldnt mess with TTC either since it burst.
