Hi Ladies :flower:

I hope you don't mind me asking but......

Since coming off the birth control pill at the end of last year, my cycles have been 52-54 days long. Do you think it's worth me going to the Dr and if so are they likely to prescribe me Clomid to reduce my cycle length?

I've tried taking AC for the last few months but it's made no difference.

Thanks

XxX:kiss:

I am not sure if they would prescribe to shorten cycles. I could be wrong but its normally used to stimulate ovulation so I think they would check if you are ovulating first before they would prescibe this.

I think there is another drug used to bring of af, but I dont know too much about it. I am sure someone else will have an idea. Good luck. XXX

I would definitely go to the doctor. I don't know about prescribing Clomid to shorten your cycles, but I just went to my doc yesterday after having a 55 day cycle and he said that is too long and upped my dosage of Clomid.

I went to the doc's for exactly this reason and was prescribed clomid. Since coming off the pill my cycles had ranged from 37 to 52 days and I was prescribed clomid.

On my first cycle and got a postive OPK on CD16 which is a big improvement.

I would definately advise you go to see your doctor.

I went to the doctor as my cycles were the same he didnt give me anything he referred me to the gyno, as i had given it enough time since comin off bc, its been 16months now and my cycles are like yours..
xx

I'd go see your doc hun regardless :) He may be able to help, but i know my GP does not prescribe clomid at all. We had to be referred to a specialist :)

I couldnt remember the name of the drug but I think provera would be a more likely choice. XX

Sorry misunderstanding in my post - I went to the docs who then referred me to infertility clinic (took about 6 weeks) and they prescribed clomid for my long cycles.
