Clomid Question

Hi Folks,

I know there is the clomid club thread.. but I wanted to keep this as a seperate question as it doesn't have to do with Clomid usage (AS YET!).

My wife and I have been ttc for 6 months and since the first month the ovulation tests are yet to show a positive. We have been to her gynae and got told to try clomid. In two weeks she is going to see a obst. for a pre-conception appointment....As she has her period now she needs to decide whether to go on Clomid or wait till her next cycle (50 days). If she goes on it and the obstatrician doesn't like the idea of Clomid for whatever reason, can she just stop taking it? Or do you need to slowly drop off it or does it take several months for your body to get right again (like after going off the pill!)?? Very confused whether to give it a go or just wait another month!?!

You only take it for a course of 5 days, I am doubtful that you should just drop as its only a short amount of time. These are questions that need to be directed at the Doctor that gave you the prescription. Clomid will probably have your wife ovulating 7-10 days after her last pill. I would suggest your wife tries it out, as your dr advised, and speak to the obtsr. about how she felt on it. Good luck

i agree with sonya, i wouldnt mess about with it on and off but if your dr prescribed it then he obviously thinks theres a good chance it could help her ovulate. i'd try it and then discuss everything with the obstr when you see them next good luck!
