Clomid question....

just realised if there was u wudda done that already lol, sorry I have a tired brain!

I was going to do that (asked for a female doctor) then they couldn't get me in with her for like 2 weeks, they asked was it an emergency and i said its not A&E material but more important than waiting 2 weeks and they were useless, my Mum was all for complaining but tbh....where would it get us??? besides they would have to refer me (they say GP's cant prescribe it - even though I know someone who got it from an old GP at the same surgery) which they say you can wait up to 4 months to be seen then they have to run all their own tests etc blah blah blah!!

But the Gyno we went private with has booked me in for Werdnesday to give me something to start AF then I can start Clomid (gona be pricey but hey!) I feel sick to the stomach that the NHS are forcing us into having to do it this way but I am not prepared to wait any longer anymore!

oh and trust me, the last time I seen him I ran out of his office in tears otherwise I thought I was about to really flip out! lol (I still might key his car though) LOL oj

x

lol deffo key the car!
all the best of luck for wednesday, it'll be pricey but all for a good cause !! I wud complain to local MSP or sumthin tho or at least make an anonymous complaint about that man doctor to the surgery hehe
x

whats MSP? yea, you know what I think I might give the surgery a call, he will know it has came from me anyways but tbh I don't really care if he knows.....thats it, the cars getting it! hehe

just because you dont have periods doesnt mean you dont ovulate. periods come on because of dropped progesterone and you can ovulate and have no period. good examples are women who are breastfeeding who dont have periods but get pregnant with their second. usually doctors take this into consideration whether you have children or not and wont refer you for 12 months. also they will want to do testing to find out WHY you arent ovulating. if you arent ovulating because of PCOS or because of a thyroid disorder you would need to get that taken care of first before being prescribed clomid as the other 2 can cause miscarriages of you dont get them under control...hope that helps some.

Yea the private gyno told me I'm not ovulating (well not consistently - maybe 2-3 times a year) and he said I need Clomid, the ordinary GP said I most likely wasn't, but refuses to check.

It was also the private gyno I that I paid for that diagnosed the PCOS, the GP refuses to investigate.

The only thing that the GP did do reluctantly (after months and months of asking for tests) was check my thyroid which came out as underactive....but again refuses to treat, instead ordered a retest for 8 weeks later (which was yesterday - so will get the results Tuesday) - prob just trying to buy himself time to try and bring us closer to the year mark.

I totally understand the whole waiting the year out thing for people who have what is classed as "normal" cycles, who ovulate and have a period regularly every month, but I think when someone doesn't have a period for 100 days, pcos, underactive thyroid and nine months later still isn't pg then they should be doing something about it, I know people who have had these such things investigated and had PCOS and thyroid disorders etc diagnosed and treated who aren't even ttc so I don't see what his problem is.

But yeah I guess your right if he bothered to do some investigations instead of me having to pay privately for these things and got them treated and under control that would probably be half the battle but since he is not prepared to do that then we were left with no option and are now going to get the help we need.

i didnt mean that it was fair! :hugs: doctors are just buttheads and do whats best for insurance companies more now than for people. i didnt see a specialist until may 16th. i was referred january 3rd (this was because my husband is in the army and changed duty stations though, so not the insurances fault  ) and i went at my 1 year mark and was told that i was too young to be trying for a baby and that i needed to wait until i was 25 to see someone! low and behold that im sick enough that even if i wasnt TTC i would need a doctors care! :growlmad: makes me so angry!

DH and I have been TTC for 3 yrs. Then three months ago I got put on clomid 50mg.. it didnt work that month. I am now on 100mg clomid and was wondering if anyone has had random spotting? My last AF was May 13th and at CD6 I had light spotting that lasted not even a day, then at cd20 had spotting for a day again, at cd 26 spotting for one day again. On none of these days was it even enought to fill a panty liner! Today I am 8 days late for AF and still nothing! Anyone else have anything like this?
