Hiya

My lo has cmpi and at 10 mnths she had some milk products but couldnt tolerate much and so we were told to wait til 18 mnths. The other day she had a teeny mouthful of clotted cream ice cream. I prepared myself for a bad night as before even a teeny bit caused her to react. Anyway great nice as per usual. She sleeps in bed woth us. So I tried her with a bit more yesterday and no reaction! Unsure what to do.next as surely ice cream is as milky as you can get? Lol. Biscuits etc we have are all dairy free as we only brought what she could eat generally but mil brought the ice cream for us.

I obviously dont wanna overload her system to start but unsure what to try next. I ate all the ice cream :D

My LO was CMPI too. She now eats all dairy fine.

I just introduced things bit by bit. So started with things like biscuits then went on to a couple of spoons of yogurt, a thin layer of philly on her cracker, bit of butter on her toast etc just small amounts at first and just one thing per day so I could watch for reactions. If your LO is fine with that, try a bit more each time.

Just watch out for actual milk as a drink. I don't know if its just my Lo that's weird but she can eat any amount of dairy products and be absolutely fine, yet just one ounce of cows milk in with her formula and she gets awful constipation! :haha:

Thanks! We tried the biscuits etc at 10 months but had to put her back on nutramigen aa. I will get a couple of things for her to try and fingers crossed! :)

Xx

My DD was CMPI too and we gradually introduced dairy in amounts she could tolerate. First it was biscuits, butter on toast, milk in mashed potatoes etc. By the end we gave her everything we ate except for her formula which remained Neocate. At 16ish months we decided to try cows milk. She wouldnt take it because of the taste difference so we mixed the two. 6oz Neocate and 2oz cows milk and so on. And we gradually reduced the amount of Neocate so that we would know exactly how much she could tolerate without overloading her or confusing her with the taste difference. So that may be something you could do.

Thanks. Shes on oatmilk atm so we may try that. She had a small amount of milk yesterday and we have had no issues at all whereby she normally goes crazy on the night! Xx

Okay so no reaction to it still so fingers crossed she is ok. I mixed some cows milk with oat milk for her morning bottle and she drank about 2oz.

Only thing I have noticed is she has just had 2 STINKY nappies. Lmao. I am wondering is this normal when changing milk etc?

Xx
