I remember reading somewhere you couldn't eat cold pizza... Is this true? Surely it's fine if you put it in the fridge?

I have..... never even thought about it to be honest x

I'm not sure if it has meat on it because I'm veggie but could you pop it in the oven to reheat it - would that kill off any germies?

I'm starting to wonfer if there anything that is actually okay to eat? :p

Me too! :( lol I wanted a McDonald's milkshake but people told me no lol x

Dominos tastes almost as good if you reheat it in the oven. You need to heat it until it's steaming hot to kill off any bacteria. Even if it's been in the fridge you should reheat it thoroughly.

I'm so glad we're going out for Pizza Express tonight, this thread has made me crave pizza :p No delicious risotto for me though, it contains stilton :(

Well I did the other week, cold out the fridge for work the next day lol
I'm not sure if it has meat but mine did ... should be fine although I wouldn't reheat!

That's not true at all!! You can drink milkshake from Mc D's!

McDonald's milkshakes use icecream from the same machine as the McFlurries, which is a listeria risk (they are very hard to clean properly), which is why they're on the 'banned' list, sorry.

Obviously everyone makes their own decisions about what risks they're prepared to take, but it's misleading to tell people there is no risk.

As for the pizza, I wouldn't eat it unless it was reheated thoroughly. Personally, I would even be dubious about delivery pizza anyway, as it's usually lukewarm by the time it arrives, and you have no idea about the food-handling process. I might eat something like a roast chicken I'd cooked myself cold the next day, but only because I know exactly how it was cooked and stored.

Ah I can't say I'm that worried. I haven't gotten listeria before being pregnant. But if that's true I'm sorry and you're right it's a personal choice then x

I was about to post about listeria, I was just googling before I commented. The pizza is always very hot when it gets to me as it's not far away, think I've eaten enough to keep me happy for a few months lol it was a 75% off voucher that popped up for a few hours so I had to take advantage, lol

Amazing what £11 can get you instead of £48  :D

Yikes, I had pizza last week in a restaurant and took some it home then ate it cold later in the day, but there was no meat on it...Also, today I ate a sandwich that was prepared last night and left in the fridge, would that be on the banned list as well!? I have a list of what to avoid, but I'm pretty sure I am having to add something to it everyday.

I practically lived in McDonalds on cheeseburgers and Mcflurries when pregnant with DS and he's a happy 6 year old. But basically what we can and can't eat changes regularly. I know what fish we can eat is being reviewed due to new findings at Bristol University. I also know when I was pregnant with DS I couldn't have nuts. I still can't have nuts this time due to OH's allergy but everyone else can :)

Well, listeria is pretty uncommon, so I would expect that most people, pregnant or not, will never have it. But if you do get it while pregnant, its extremely serious.

What I'm trying to say is the fact that you haven't had it before is kind of a false reassurance. I mean, I drove my car every day last year and never had an accident. But plenty of other people did, and some had consequences as severe as permanent injury and death.

Like you say, it's all a matter of personal risk but a history of not having experienced it before is no real protection.

I still drive my car too lol and it's way more likely I will crash my car than get listeria from a milk shake. I don't want to argue this anymore because I don't even drink milk shakes but I do eat Mc Flurry's occasionally lol

You can eat Stilton, as its a hard cheese. If you look online at the nhs website it states its fine. :)

Here's the link :)

I drank McDonald's milkshake, reheated pepperoni pizza and ate soft boiled eggs with my daughter... I'm back on the milk shakes and pizza but not craving eggs yet but meh. It's a guideline if it was that bad McDonald would make you sign a waiver every time you ordered something
