I'm pretty sure my daughter has colic :( it all started the other day and I got her a doctors appointment for the same day. Took her in and doctor fobbed me off, told me he couldn't tell yet because it was only that day and basically made me feel a bit neurotic and silly for taking her in.

Has anybody got any tips or tricks to help her? She's 2 months in a couple of weeks and she's showing all the classic signs that Google says- drawing her knees up to her tummy, really, really crying and going red and just seems generally uncomfortable. She's bottle fed and is on comfort milk and I'm giving her infacol atm which seems to be working but not all the time. She was STTN but this has really unsettled her. Should I take her back to the doctors or see how it goes with infacol for a while? Is there anything better? I feel so clueless!

Hate seeing her like this :(

Colic is such a tough one, and I found no quick and easy fixes, but there are places in the world where it does't seem to happen and these are places where babies are pretty much worn all the time. So maybe that's an idea? I used to try wearing my DD once she was already upset - NOT a good idea - but it can be a lifesaver if you can get them in to a wrap/sling when they are calm.

Have a little look if you can at baby massage. There are loads of vidoes on YouTube. Can help to relax you both and help to deal with it a little at a time. Also bathing can help to relax baby too. A nice warm bath then snuggles skin to skin. My GP also gave me a little tip to give teething granules. Mostly they are advertised suggesting they help the gums but they actually help to settle their tummy problems from teething and swallowing excess saliva. It seemed to work alongside infacol and baths for my friends little one. Just keep in the back of your mind that one day it will just suddenly stop, it will! Xxx

My dd1 had colic...
Doctor browns bottles are a must and also colief...

Infacol i found rubbish...colief is 12 per bottle and its tiny however if u can say to gp it workd they will perscribe it

Did my dd wonders

With new baby im.starting off on doctot browns bottles

I would go back and ask for baby gavisgon, the symptoms sound the same as my little one had and after a few days of this my baby was much more relaxed.

Biogaia.
Seriously.
It's a probiotic drop. Helps the intestines with digestion.
My little guy was the same, and after the one bottle was done, he is totally fine. It's worth a try, as it can only do good. You can get it over the counter at any pharmacy. Ask your Dr if you're curious.
Google it.
So many people I know swear by it.

My baby didn't have colics but at 5 weeks became fussy so I took preventative measures:

1. Dr Browns bottles
2. Biogaia drops
3. Lactose free formula
4. Zantac for suspected reflux

And took hours after a feed to properly burp her to make sure all her gas was out. Usually colics is caused by milk intolerance.
