Hey ladies, I had a quick question that I hope at least someone can answer.

I had a VERY VERY early ultrasound done yesterday and the results read

"Corpus Luteum on right side appears to hemorrhagic or collapsing"

My progesterone was 26 yesterday so it isnt falling, in fact it is rising. I am freaking out as I have already suffered one miscarriage and I do not want to do it again.

Does anyone know if this is a normal thing to have on an early scan? A collapsing corpus luteum cyst? I know the cyst is important for progesterone and stuff so of course I am freaking out if it is leaving me early!

Or does it just mean it is dwindling down.. but will reach to where the placenta takes over?

Can anyone shed any light that might make me feel better?

Im sure they would have explained it to you if they were worried. I would phone and ask them just to check.hope everythings ok :hugs:

Ive had a bad experience with this, but I dont want to scare you. The cyst is responsible for producing the progesterone you need to sustain the pregnancy. There is a lag time between how much progesterone is being produced and when it enters the blood stream. I would demand progesterone supplements b/c the placenta does not take over until 10-12 weeks! GL hun

I know that's why I am freaking out! Did yours rupture or collapse? Because there are a couple stories I have found online that says it was fine but its when it ruptures that you have a problem. Mine hasn't ruptured or anything..

It wasnt my CL cyst, but another large ovarian cyst that ruptured, causing progesterone to stop being produced. I have read that a collapsing CL cyst is usually not a good sign but there is a chance that it can rebuild.
