***I Had first posted these ?'s in the pregnancy forum, thinking that since they had had success they would be able to help but was directed to ask you kind ladies about my situation :) *****

Hi, first of all, I should say, I'm coming over from TTC but I probably would be better suited in this forum, as it took us 12 1/2 years to conceive our first baby (9 of those yrs not trying not preventing, 2 to 2 and 1/2 of those yrs actively trying with all the stops pulled out that we could afford, and then when we finally gave up and were planning a life without a baby I fell pregnant. Talk about Irony.) Anyways, I gave birth to our first Emma Feb. 5th, 2015. My cycles returned at 1 yr pp and still BFing, but not exclusively at that point. We have been trying to conceive this go round since my cycles returned, well we were not trying/not preventing the first two months and now have passed through three cycle actively trying with LH strips and monitoring my CP/CM. Both taking a Multivitamin formulated for each sex and hubs is taking zinc. We did an at home fertility check for hubs and his test (at least the count, bc that's all the test really checks) is within normal range. Now, me being the nutball that I am also borrowed my nieces microscope and took a little looksie at hubs swimmers under the microscope, after doing hrs of research to know what I was looking for as far normal and abnormal are concerned. Now, I KNOW I am by no means a "substitute" for an actual SA but on the same hand they seemed to be shaped pretty normal, majority swimming in the right direction, etc. I would say in my unprofessional opinion, lol, that's hub's swimmer's are just fine. And, BTW, it was a fascinating little science "experiment".

Now, for my questions. My last cycle was 49 days, ending in a CP. I normally am about 30CD's like clock work. At least since I had the little. Previous to that my cycles were all jacked up. It was completely normal for me to go months without a cycle. I once went an entire year (actually 14 months) without one. I've never addressed any of these issue's with an OBGYN so I don't know what was wrong, but I was told that I probably had Endometriosis about a yr previous to conceiving Emma, they had done an abdominal US and CT for something else, and noticed some anomalies, after I asked them to go ahead and take a look there as well, bc I suspected something was wrong. Now, that doctor was not a fertility specialist or any kind of doctor that specialized in that particular part of the body. I've had several cysts on my ovaries through out the yrs and UTI's as well as Kidney infections. Some of those cysts have ruptured. My periods have always been VERY heavy and EXTREMELY painful, like painful to point that I am unable to function at all. Since my cycle's returning PP, I have not had any of those problems. My flow is still heavy but in a more "normal" way. I will have one day of spotting that creeps up to very heavy, two days of very heavy, one day of light, and one day of spotting, then it's done. Most cycle's I haven't even needed to take an OTC pain med either, bc they aren't painful like they used to be either. I was advised by a Douala to add CoQ10 to both mine and Hubby's regimens and for me to go on progesterone cream. My questions are these: One has anyone had success with adding these into your arsenal? 2- Are they expensive? 3- Is it worth it? 4- Should I really be doing this right now, since this will only be our 4th cycle of "trying" actively with LH strips, except this cycle I have a CBFM (old one). My other question is about the monitor and the sticks it uses. I got a steal by wonderful woman on eBay for a CBFM and about 180 sticks for it, that I could not pass up. But after really looking into the CBFM's, I really love the new model, and think that it would be much more helpful for me, bc it allows you to store other fertility info in it, like BDing and CP/CM, and it has an alarm, which I really NEED. (I'm aware I can set a separate alarm for the one I have, though)lol. My question is has anyone tried to use the old sticks with the new FM? I know they 'officially" say they don't work with it, but I was curious if anyone had actually tried to use them, bc I'm also aware that CB may be just saying that bc they want you to buy the new sticks and not the older one's, bc as I understand they aren't being made anymore? I am getting an advanced monitor this week, but I would hate for all those sticks to just go to waste. My other question about the monitor, is for those of you who have used it, and did it actually help you, or do you think using regular LH strips is just as good? I like the fact that the monitor tracks both LH and Estrogen, giving you a more accurate picture of your cycle. My other question about the monitor, is should I be temping with too? Or is the fact that it tracks two hormones good enough? Thanks for all your help ladies! I truly appreciate it!

I am still working on ttc#1 so I have no experience with PP anything. But....

I just use the cheapie OPKs. I like One Step brand bought on Amazon. I have a CBD lh tester I use to confirm LH surge and the One Step brand worked just fine and is super cheap. I temp as well because you can have an lh surge and then your body decides not to ovulate that cycle or sometimes you can have multiple lh surges in a cycle which can be confusing. Temping will confirm O. I use Fertility Friend to track.

As far as supplements here is my list and my partners list. I have PCOS and chronic headaches so some of my supplements support those two conditions.

Me: prenatal, CoQ10, B6 (short lp), B complex, calcium/mag/zinc combo, Vitamin E, vitamin C, evening primrose (before O), fish oil (after O),folic acid, L- arginine, and baby asprin (after o).

Partner: Maca, CoQ10, multi, L-Arginine, L-Cartinine, B complex, selenium, folic acid, zinc.

Hopefully someone will have some more info for you on the rest of your questions. Good luck!

I have taken coq10 on and off while TTC #2 along with a bunch of other stuff. I don't know if it made any difference, but my FSH was very low for a woman my age. Coq10 can be very expensive, but is highly recommended by medical professionals for a variety of conditions, not just TTC. I took the capsules back when I was TTC #2 but now that I'm gearing up to TTC #3 I have switched to the powder form of it which I put in my food. The powder form is much less expensive and I order it from Amazon.

I used CBFM when TTC #2 and found it to be far and away better than the LH strips. CBFM was far and away the most accurate in charting my cycles and well worth the money. When I was tracking my ovulation I loved the fact that I always could know exactly when AF was coming. I think women who are pretty regular can get by with the regular strips but for women who vary from cycle to cycle or need more precision, CBFM is definitely the way to go.
