Hi Internet friends!
I've been lurking on ttc forums for long enough now, with only a sporadic post here and there, and thought it high time to introduce myself! So here's my story thus far...
I'm Sarah, 26, and I've been ttc for about a year, after ntnp for approximately 6 years (with a few breaks of 3-6 months to treat my cervical dysplasia/hpv). My husband is 44, and considering he has never fathered a child (to his knowledge!) he assumed he was the problem. My cycles have always been quite regular and I experience ovulation cramps, so I must admit I too thought we would be dealing with some major male infertility...but of course I didn't admit that to him! We finally sought the help of a fertility specialist a couple months ago, a great doctor recommended by a wonderful friend, and were told that she suspected both male infertility and possible fallopian tube blockage. A couple weeks later, DH was indeed diagnosed with low volume and borderline motility, but everything else was great! My ovarian blood tests and ultrasounds showed that everything is the right shape, size, level, color, etc! The only thing we are currently waiting on is an hsg test to check for any road blocks in my tubes, and if everything checks out, we'll go ahead with iui...after a few more months of trying naturally, that is...procedures scare me!
I could go on about all my feelings, fears, hopes, dreams, and so on...but I'll save all that drivel for another post!
I hope to make some meaningful connections here and help myself and others get through this ridiculous, scary, sometimes painful--but not uncommon--journey we're all on together.
GL and baby dust to all reading this!
