So as many of you that read my posts know that I am incredibly nervous, anxious and terrified of labour and delivery. So I've been trying to calm myself down over last few days and tried to be more relaxed. Well I had my 38week appointment today with my midwife. Routine checks and quick go over birth plan I'd written up 15 min appointment max. Well...she made the mistake of asking if I was okay and did I have any anxiety about labour...hysterical crying commenced and took 40 minutes to calm me down. So stupid! I felt so unbelievably pathetic! What the hell is wrong with me? I don't think I'll ever get a grip on this fear...really getting me down now :(

It's called hormones hun. :hugs: Try convice yourself that all this fear/anxiety you have now is your way of your body and mind getting rid of these feelings BEFORE the birth happens. And that when you go in labour you will be calm and clear and your body will know what to do.

Is there anything specific you are anxious about?

All of it lol I feel really overwhelmed by it all... The pain of contractions if I can't cope with it, the physical pushing baby out, tearing and stitches etc...I'm a complete pathetic wimp I don't deny it. All getting on top of me now though. And I really badly don't want to have to stay in so I'm hoping for a decent labour so I can get the 2hour earliest possible discharge x
