Hello, well i think the title says it all but i will tell you abit about me and then explain more!! So me and other half have been trying for 5 years, we've had all the tests which came back low motility on oh test. We have been through 2 cycles of icsi which didnt work 1st time and second ended in mc. Now paying privatley we decided to try a couple of iui's (due to the difference in cost) so we had our first one last month, took 50mg clomid day 3-7 ovulated on cd14 and had the iui which resulted in :bfn:. On to round 2 took 50mg clomid day 2-6 this time, went in on 23rd had 1 15mm follie and was told to strat testing from the 24th which was day 11. Well i am now on day 18 and nothing :nope:. I am using the cb digital opk which i have never had any problem with but still no smiley face  i phoned the hospital and they just said keep testing till saturday then ring either way, but i dont even feel remotley like im gona ovulate, so where the hell did that 15mm follie go??? has this ever happened to any of you before? The woman said that sometimes the clomid can make you ovulate slightly later, but then she also said that a follie will grow on avaregae about 2mm aday, so if thats the case then my follie would be about 31mm :haha:. Sorry for the long post but i just would like to know if anyone else has had this, it appears to me that i have well and truley missed ov and this cycle is a bust .

Well now day 20 and still no surge :growlmad:. I still cant believe that a cb digital has managed to miss ovulation, and there was me thinking they would be the best because i wouldnt have to determine lines!!

(Lesson to self- never assume)

Do you check other ov signs like ewcm or temp charts?
Could the OPK have been wrong, and you ov'd already?

Do you feel like you've ov'd already hun?

Must be so frustrating :(

Don't rely on using opks. The first time I was prescribed clomid (about 4 months ago) I was using my cbfm in the morning & opks in the evening to check for ov but I got zilch, zero on both.:nope:

I went to the gp to request getting my bloods done (think it was day 21) explaining why & it came back that I had ov despite getting low readings on the cbfm & negatives using the opks.:dohh:

Can you not ask for a blood test to be done? :flower:

Hi. I am no expert but it seems that OPK's do not always detect a surge as it is present in your system for such a short time (only a matter of hours). I am sure I read that your surge may happen in the middle of the night, making it very difficult to detect. I hope you can have a blood test to confirm though. Hopes.

Hello to all you lovely ladies that replied and thankyou :flower: I do track cm and i actually had ewcm on cd7 and thought i was ovulating then, but the scan i had on day10 still showed the follie so i assumed it wasnt ovulation, i then had some more on day13 and again thought this could be it but id started testing by then and nothing was showing up. I phoned the hospital again yesturday and they said to test again today and tomorrow and if nothing then just move onto next month. It is really frustrating especially as i had terrible symptoms from the clomid this time round and it was all a waste of time  I dont think my clinic will do a blood test for me now but one sign that is making me think ovulation may have ocurred is that my boobs have become sore which is usual for me after ov.

I agree that the opk's may not be reliable, they actually say not to use them in the morning but my clinic told me that i should test in the mornings  I am very upset that this has set us back a month and i am scared that this could happen again. So sorry for the long reply!! xx

my clinic told me that i should test in the mornings
You should test few times a day, I do 2 a day (1 in afternoon and one in the night), with CBFM in the morning.

Why not get one of those cheap IC OPKs like these?

Hi hun, well that was what i thought that testing a few times aday would cover you, but my clinic said that they know that the opk's say not to test in the morning, but they wanted me to test with fmu and only test once aday so i just went with what they were suggesting. It did work with the 1st iui i detected surge on cd14 and then actually felt ov on cd15. But this one has puzzled me . As i say though my (.)(.) are sore now and that only happens after ov so i guess i just have to accept that i missed it and start afresh next month. Thankyou for your input though its nice to just talk to someone about it and not send myself staircrazy :haha: xx
