Hi all,

I found out Monday that I have stage 0 adenocarcinoma in situ - early stage cervical cancer. I am 8 weeks pregnant today. They want a specialist to do a cone biopsy at 14 weeks, and probably stitch my cervix up then for fear of cervix incompetency. It's all under general anesthesia, which is why they want to wait until baby is 14 weeks.

Does anyone have any experience with this? So worried I will miscarry this baby. :nope:

Thanks...

I don't have experience with this specific situation, but similarly I had a huge ovarian cyst (rapidly growing) that needed to be removed. It was also found when I was 8 weeks pregnant and surgery was planned for second tri. I read that 14-19 weeks is the safest time for surgery, and I ended up having my surgery (under general anesthesia) when I was 16 weeks. everything went really well and there were no complications with baby. I am 3 weeks post op now, and baby is doing great. unfortunately the cyst has returned, but I do not know what the next plan of action is.

good luck and try not to stress so much. I read so many stories of surgery during pregnancy and never found one loss when surgery was performed in second tri. I'm sorry you are going through this and I hope that they are able to remove everything they need :hugs:

Thanks for responding beemeck! Glad the first surgery went well, and I hope the cyst slows down and they come up with a good plan of action for you. Hugs and prayers for you and baby.
