Can anyone advise please? I posted in another part of the forum about working out ovulation dates on a 6 week cycle and I had it all sorted. Got my ticker set up and that was as far as I was going to go with "planning" to dtd on my most fertile days.

Then this month, af turned up a whole week early, which throws all of that out of whack! What do I do now? Should I stick with the dates I'd worked out for my 6 week cycle or start counting all over again from the start of my "early" af? I suppose I should re-start my counting? But if that's the case, how long should I put for my cycle length? So confusing!! lol!

I never thought I'd say it, but I actually kinda wish I had a nice easy 28 day cycle to work from

Counting is a pretty hard method to use because your cycle varies from month to month for most women. That's why the Rhythm Method of birth control (as opposed to the Fertility Awareness Method) where past cycles were used to predict current ones had such a very high failure rate. Instead I'd recommend reading up on the Charting Course over at Fertility Friend and learning how to use fertility awareness to know when you are likely ovulating. Either that or try the Sperm Meets Egg Plan which is pretty popular with some ladies here.

Thank you EngineerGirl, I've taken a look at them both, but will perhaps come back to them at a later date. we're only NTNPing at the moment and these both look a bit too like in depth TTC for us just yet. Definitely worth looking at in a few months if we've not fallen by then though. :)
