Hello! Im a little confused about C-Sections! Im a total novice... :)

If i think about it, i must have loads of fluid and stuff inside my womb which will ultimately need to drain out? With natural labour i can understand how this would all drain away ie the cervix will remain abit open?! But how does everything drain away with a C-Section if the cervix doesnt open? Do they suck it all out during the section?

This is probably gonna come across as proper thick but its just something i have been wondering!! :haha:

It splashes on the floor and/or they suction it out.

The best sign to knowing your baby is about to arrive is you hear that splash or the suction start up.

I didnt hear a splash like some mums but I did hear the suction.

Yip they suck it out :) and afterwards you'll be on thick bed pads and as you are numb from ribs down you won't feel what you're lying in! Gross I know!

You know what...I was wondering the same - and I've had a c-section haha! :flower:

The anaesthetist actually gave me a bit of a running commentary on what was happening during my section. He explained they were about to break my waters and that I would then hear loads of gurgling as they sucked the fluid up. It was exactly like that - then you feel them pulling and pushing on your tummy and the next second your baby is born. So when you hear the gurgling/sucking you'll very soon see your baby!!

Huh, I never thought about that lol. I had a emcs after pushing for 3hrs, so everything had already come out.
