Confused about child tax credits payment.

Bit confused. Yesterday, £18.26 appeared in my bank account. Well today that shown up as child tax credit. Which I've been waiting to hear about since I applied and posted the form off a week and a half ago. Why £18.26?

And today, another payment has gone in for £66.85 which I can only assume is more child tax credits as it can't be anything else. But it won't say where it's come from till the next day.

But I thought payments get backdated from the day baby is born? I was expecting about £250!

And what is that £18 all about??

It can come to u in dribs n drabs like that. Ive had that loads of times where u get a couple of payments rather than just one huge amount.

Ah well I phoned them this morning and they'd "forgotten" to pay the backdated payments so they've sorted that out.

Mine did the same, they said up to 4 weeks after i applied for the back payment and i got it after 2 weeks x
