Confused about cycle length

Ok so my normal cycle length is 29/30 days and this cycle and the last one suddenly dropped to 27 days. I'm 30 yrs old and haven't seen a 27 day cycle since my teens. My last depo September 2013(and won't get anymore)and have had regular cycles since February 2014. I've never been preg. I think I may have endo. As far as I'm aware of no other problems. I have had 2 cycles longer than 35 days and from I've read it means they were anovulatory. I've googled it and came up with nothing. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation? Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

I have had that happen, but honestly its because I have PCOS. How long were the cycles where you didnt ovulate? Mine went 6 months lol and I only finished the cycle because I took provera and then metformin to help with my PCOS.

Do you have really painful periods? That a typical sign of endo. Having long and/or irregular cycles sounds more like PCOS to me. If you suspect any of those things, I would recommend seeing a doc and trying to get it figured out. How long have you been TTC? if over a year it might be beneficial to see a RE (reproductive endocrinologist) instead of a OBGYN

My cycles where I didn't ovulate were 37 CD and 40 CD with a normal 29 CD in between....I have read if you have a longer than 35 CD its considered you didn't ovulate...as far as painful periods, no not painful...we have not been TTC for long...I knew someone with PCOS and they actually skipped periods...Thanks for responding

You have to ovulate in order to have a period. So, it doesnt matter how long your cycles are, if you had a period, you ovulated. You just have long cycles.

So, you should be counting your cycles as ovulatory unless you go months and months without a period and need something like Provera to make a period start.
