I posted this in the "Trying to Conceive" forum. I probably should have posted it on this forum. Sorry about this mods!
Hello everyone,
I hope someone here can help me. I will try to explain as best as I can! Last year we found out I had a Polyp after doing a HSG, its a rather large polyp and was told that could be the reason for past MC's. We were living abroad at the time and actually set up an appointment to get it removed but due to a communication problem with the hospital and our RE's clinic, the appointment was cancelled ( this was November "10, found out about the polyp in August 10"). Now we are back in the UK, I have met with the doctor and he sent me in for a US and a transvaginal US before setting me up with any type of surgery for it to be removed. The doctor also saw the results from my HSG clearly showing a large polyp.
So, I went in for the US and after searching and prodding, there was no polyp to be found. The Sonographer was very confused, all she found was a very small fibroid, but no polyp at all, mind you from my HSG, this polyp that I have, its on the large side so I am totally confused to why it was not detected. I did some research though and have read that sometime Polyps will not show on Ultra sounds, the best way to detect them is by having a HSG, hysteroscopy or a SHG ( scan with saline).
Does anyone have any advice for me? I am in at the end of the month to see the doctor again, I am not sure what he is going to tell me to do now, I have the results of the HSG, showing the polyp and its size which he has seen and obviously he will have the lastest US result. I was sent in for this scan because the doctor wanted to look at it again, check its size and position before getting it removed and now with it not showing up on the scans, I dont' know if he will go ahead and do more tests or just send me home? My last MC was really my worst one, I got hit with major depression and it was one of the worst times of my life, I do not want to try again knowing that I could possibly go through another MC. Sorry to ramble on, I am so confused right now, any advice or help would be very much appreciated. Thank you!
