Confused and at a loss

My period is a week late and the only other symptoms I have are being emotional and moody and my boobs have started to hurt in the morning. I took a test 1-2 days after expecting my period with no sign of it in sight and it was negative.. maybe I tested too early?

I'm wondering if I should test again at a later date, but I would hate to waist another test plus it's heart breaking every time and I rather not put myself through that if I don't have to. (We have been TTC for 5 years.)

Also, I don't know that it matters but I was waiting for this particular cycle to happen so that I could have my blood tested and ultrasound done to determine what is going on. It's been 5 years and a few very painful procedures and still no definitive answers.

I say keep on testing, especially if you haven't in about a week. I can't even imagine how you feel after testing for 5 years, but of your not getting AF a test is the only way to know for certain. So sorry for your struggles

Are you tracking your temperatures or using OPKs so that you're sure you ovulated? I have random cycles from time to time where I don't ovulate until CD25 or later, which sets AF back to CD41+!

If you ovulated much later than you expected to, that could be the problem?

Can you go in and get a bHCG test to know if you're pregnant for sure?
