Hi

I'm brand new to this forum. My nickname is Lulle, I'm 40 years old, and I'm trying to conceive.

I have an 8 year old daughter with my ex, and my fiance and I are now trying to conceive our first LIVE child. In August 2012 we lost our daughter in stillbirth pregnancy week 32+1 due to a blood cloth in my placenta causing one of the veins in the umbilical cord to crack.

I've been pregnant two times since then, but I've lost both times in early stages of pregnancy.

I'm now undergoing tests, and the first results are showing fine values due to my age (AMH 17, FSH 6, LH 5). The tests also showed there might be a problem with my thyroid (>1300).

For the first time I've started temping to track my ovulation. I'm now in cycle day 23, and there's no significant rise in my temperature.

I've just had another blood test taken, that will tell me if I've ovulated. All the signs have been there - sore breasts, small cramps and mucus - except from rise in temperature.

Does anyone know if you can ovulate even if the temp doesn't change? And - can thyroid problems 'cause no rise in temperature and still ovulate?

Thanks! :)

I am so sorry for the losses you have experienced :hugs:

I have thyroid issues as well (hypothyroidism) and although it has given me lower bbt overall, I still get a rise after ovulation. That being said, I use FertilityFriend to chart my temps and it can take a few days after ovulation before FF indicates I ovulated a couple days earlier. Sometimes I have a slow rise (gradual rise over a few days) which makes it harder for me to recognize ovulation based on temps alone. On what CD do you think you o'd?

Hi hun, firstly I'm so so sorry for your losses. I can't imagine what you have had to go through :(

I don't chart religiously but when I did I didn't get an immediate rise after ovulation, it was more over a few days. What day do you normally ovulate (do you know)? If it was recently you could just be a "slow riser" - I found that term in Google when I was looking up if it's probably for a temp change after ovulation to be slow! Or you might just be a little late this cycle if your tests have been stressing you out?

Wishing you lots of babydust! X

Thank you both :)

I'm using FF, yes. I thought I ovulated on day 17, so it's been a few days since that. I must also admit that I haven't been temping at the exact same time during the morning (thought I was a nazi about it, but obviously failed since getting up earlier after x-mas vacation). Still - from CD 10, I've had pretty steady temps.

But - I had a drop today. I'm also using a regular thermometer since I haven't found a basal-one in the drug store.

Sorry about my bad English by the way. I'm Norwegian ;)

P.s. Tried to post a Picture of my FF-chart using a link, but "In an effort to stamp out forum SPAM only members with 10 posts or more can post website links or email addresses"

And here it goes :happydance:

Pretty depressing :growlmad:

Done some converting here... 97,7 is my highest. 97,34 my lowest.

Sorry for the rough ride you've had so far :( :hugs: having never even had a BFP i can't imagine what that's been like for you! But i'm glad you're still aiming for that little bundle of joy :)

As for your temps, I don't know anything about thyriod issues sorry :( do you take them at different times in the morning ? Mine vary by about .1 C per hour so my chart looks like a rocky mountain if I don't adjust my temps accordingly. Otherwise I think your body may have tried to O but didn't, if this is your first time temping then you won't know for sure what your "normal" temps are, my O temp is about 36.0-36.2 and my post O temps are 36.5-36.8. It's probably not what you were hoping to hear but just sharing my experience so far :flower: best of luck to you :)

Oh just saw you're norwegian, I live in Sweden :D lycka till!

You really need to get a bbt thermometer as the rise is very little in real terms, but on a chart looks significant. If you have pre menstral type symptoms chance are you have O'd as they are caused by progesterone, as with early pregnancy symptoms. But without a bbt it's hard to say. Sometimes the rise can be as little as .2 Celsius each day, which would not show on a regular thermometer.

Oh yes, definitely a BBT thermometer if you're not already using one :) i'd hardly notice a difference on a conventional thermometer, especially in celsius I think !

Since my latest blood tests were brilliant (feeling like a 30-year old :happydance:) - I didn't worry that much. Still, I expected a JUMP after ovulation, and I'm quite disappointed that I probably didn't ovulate this cycle.

I also have anti phospholipid anti body syndrome by the way - amongst all the other stuff. I'm supposed to take Fragmin once I get pregnant. I don't believe this to be the reason why I'm not ovulating. But my thyroid problems might be the problem.
I started taking Levaxin yesterday, and I have a receipe for crinone that I'm supposed to take as soon as I get pregnant.

I will definetely get a BBT termometer for my next cycle.

I also still have sore nipples (especially the right one) several days after my (supposedly) ovulation - I usually don't have that unless I'm pregnant.

My cycle is also 32 days, and it has been for years. Never had any problems with getting pregnant with my fiance either (3 pregnancies and 1 chemical in 2 years). I usually get pregnant on the second try.

My thyroid problems have occured just now though...

Your english is excellent! And I second what tbe others are saying - you really do need to use a BB thermo to get an accurate chart. good luck!
