Confused can Braxton Hicks case mucus plug to be lost? opinions please

Hi,

For the last 36 hours ive been gradually losing my mucus plug. Since about 8pm last night ive been having irregular contractions some of them quite painful at times (much like real contractions with dd1) but others not so strong. Whenever I get a strong one, I also lose more of my plug (pinkish, bloody dishcharge).
I called the MW and she said it aounded like things may be beginning but im not sure whether these are just strong braxton hicks or early irregular contractions which are making me dialate?

Anyone know? They start in my lower back (feels like my bum actually! ) just how real contractiins did with dd1 and seem to build to a peak around my lower abdomen then fade?

I lost my plug with BHs from 34wks onwards!

i would say there not BH. BH are not supposed to get stronger there supposed to stay the same. my labour started with what felt like BH but then got stronger (although eased on and off for a cpl days) until he came. hope this helps
