Confused - OPK and OV query

Have just read that by the time your surge shows up on an OPK that you might have already missed the boat (so to speak) - am v confused now as all OPK packages say that once a surge line shows up that you've got 24-48 hours to BD. Anyone got any info/comments etc? I have to rely on getting the BD at the right time because OH is not able to BD every 2 or 3 days before, around and after OV. Am taking the info I read seriously as it was from Zita West who is a top FS. Thanks for any help you can give x

Hey Sbee - do you have a regular cycle? If you do then the chances are you ovulate at a similar time every month. If you use the ICs for OPKs then you can see the line get darker with each FMU - alternatively you could buy CB Digi which gives you a smiley face. Either way, they detect the surge BEFORE ovulation so if you were to the day you get the OPK and the day after or every other day after you theoretically would cover all bases providing there are no other fertility issues.

We were told initially to every 48 hours due to DH's low count but if we did this from CD7 until AF there should be enough sperm present when ovulation happens.
