Confused with Ovulation

Hi ladies! So here's the deal..I'm new here and need some advice. My husband and I have been TTC for 2 months. I use OPKs and check CM, haven't starting temping yet. Monday I got a +OPK and have felt cramps since then. I went to the doctor this morning to have it checked out. She did a pelvic and said that she felt a follicle (or a possible cyst) on my right ovary. She scheduled me for a sonogram and blood work next Tuesday, but told me to go home and have sex just to be on the safe side. She didn't seem too concerned, so I guess I shouldn't be either. (If only I wasn't a ridiculous worrier) But now I'm super confused. Is it possible to ovulate 72 hours after a +opk? I'm 21 days into a typical 29-30 day cycle with lots of EWCM and dull cramping. Last month my luteal phase was 11 days and I read that it doesn't typically change much..so I assume my period will be a few days late because of late ovulation. Sorry I know this is a long post, but any information or advice would be MORE THAN appreciated.

You are right that the luteal phase doesn't usually change. Generally if you ovulate later than normal in your cycle then AF will be late. But that happens all the time. Have you recently come off BC? are your cycles normally really dependable? Even if there's a cyst, I think you can still send an egg. I think it can mess with timing and sometimes prevent the drop.
I think the +OPK really only tells us that we are likely about to ovulate. It doesn't tell us if we do. So I think you still can a few days later. I had a +OPK then negative for three days and then another +! Who knows what that means! Lol
I say follow her advice, keep your appointments, and dont stress. Worry and stress are the enemy of conception! Chill, my dear, and it will happen when it should!

I've read most women ovulate typically ovulate 12-36 hrs after a pos OPK. Once you start temping it'll all come together. For me I ovulated on the first day of pos OPK. Don't worry. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask anytime The other confusing part is you can have EWCM anytime of the cyle( ) GL and baby dust
