Last night, I had a hard time sleeping. I felt so much tightness and pressure in my lower abdomen and kept telling my fiancé that I felt my tummy was going to rip open. Sorry, TMI but this morning when I woke up, I felt the urge to diarrhea and when I got out of bed, I felt trickling of fluid down my leg. It was not urine and I doubt that my water broke but it was clear. I ran to the bathroom and noticed I lost a huge chunk of my mucus plug but it did not have blood or anything with it. I had diarrhea immediately after and now I am getting what I think is just Braxton hicks, but my back is killing me and walking and drinking water is not helping. I have had two preterm labors before at 34 and 36 weeks, but I am currently only 26w4d. Kind of worried. I am currently getting weekly progesterone injections also.

My question is, does the mucus plug always have to contain blood for it to be true labor? I had very light blood with my first son and with my second son, there was no blood in the mucus but the next day when my water broke, there was a streak of blood when I wiped.

Right now, I am feeling so fatigued and my lower back is just killing me. I can still feel baby move but not as much and really low.

I'm not sure as Iv never knowingly lost my mucus plug in either of my previous labours but please do ring your midwife and get checked out. Better to get checked and it be nothing than leave it and it turn out to be labour. Sending :hugs:

I don't really have any advice but I'd definitely go and get yourself checked out:hugs:

I agree with the others id get checked out. Always best to be safe

I agree that you should get checked out honey as any signs of preterm labour need to be looked at asap. In answer to your question - my friend has just had her baby (at 38 weeks) and did not have a show or any blood this time, just a loss of mucus plug so yes it is possible to be in labour without a bleed. However, the plug is able to regenerate so that in itself isn't an absolute sign of labour. I really hope everything is okay - let us know. Thinking of you :flower:

I would definitely get checked out. I don't know how far along you are, but it is possible for waters to leak from very early on and if yours are leaking they will want to monitor the fluid levels.

Also the fact it was combined with loss of some mucous plug, a bowel clear out AND now pains all point towards labour signs.

I certainly don't want to worry you and it might turn out to be nothing at all, but please do take it seriously. You really need to be checked out.

Hope it is nothing and all is ok.

X

I hope everything's ok!! As other ladies have said, you need to get checked out as soon as possible, especially since you've experienced preterm labour before. Best of luck, I'm thinking of you :flow:

Hope you have got yourself checked out & everything is okay hun xxx

Thanks to you all. I've waited out the day and it's been a few hours since, but I'm now starting to feel menstrual-like cramping rather than contractions. I will call my midwife if I start to experience anything else unusual. I went in a couple of months ago for loss of some mucus but everything was okay at the time. Fingers crossed...
