With all the news on babies being harmed or worse, while I was pregnant me and my OH decided I would stay home with LO when he was born. This past Saturday he turned a year. Our finances are circling the drain. We've let go of cell phones and tv. We never go out or spend money on things we don't need. Weeks at a time we sacrifice a good meal so our son could eat (that's what good parents do right?). For the past year, only my mother and I have kept my son. My mom works on average of 60 hours a week being an ob nurse. She also has a 12 year old son. So her watching him is out o the question. OH works hard with my father as a mechanic. But the bills aren't getting paid fast enough. I could get a job at a steakhouse as a waitress and have someone I don't know watch my son for $75 a week. I don't have friends and I stay home all the time. Should I wait out the finances where it is completely mandatory for me to get a job (when stuff gets cut off) or should I suck it up. and cut the cord? If I get a job OH will be a little upset... a lot upset. I need someone to talk to. To vent to. Please help.

That's a hard one. Could you work at nights/weekends so your OH could watch your LO - it sounds like it'd be the best of both worlds.

Is there anything you could do from home?

What about watching someone else's child? That way you are making money and still home with your LO?
