I figured it was about time to post a birth story.
Starting on Jan 06, I started contracting regularly. Went in for my doctor's appointment and said I was 1cm. Went into latent labor the next morning, but only dilated to 3 and half cm. Fast forward a couple weeks, my doctor decided it was best to induce me at 39 weeks, Jan 19th.
Went in at 4am. Got admitted around 5am. At 8am they started me off on penicillin for Group B Strep and then pitocin. A couple hours later the doctors broke my waters (10am or so). The doctor's checked me at 1pm and I was 5cm. Contractions were getting rather intense, so they checked me again at 2:30pm.... I was 9cm dilated.
Well by 5pm I hadn't gone any further and my son's head was getting caught in the birth canal, so they took me to OR to do a c-section. It wasn't a great experience, but in the end I got my son:
Connor Joseph was born via c-section January 19th 2012 at 5:51pm, weighing 8lbs 0z.
