Consecutive Positive OPKs

bbdreams, you made COMPLETE sense! Thanks for relating to me! I mean, as frustrating as it is, it's good to know I'm not an alien. haha

Well, I'm not on Clomid, but have been taking Provera. This is my second month on it and today is day 6 of 10 pills. I was told that won't affect the OPK results, though. I think Clomid might give falsies, though.

But I wonder if you just kept BDing last month, if you woulda had a chance to get pg.

Today was the first time both lines on the OPK were equally as dark as each other (I always look at the lines even though it has the digital smiley face). Also hope this isn't TMI, but today I had thick, white creamy CM, but inside it was something stringy. I am so so lost.

When my doctor calls me back, I'll be sure to keep you updated and please definitely do likewise! xxx

Haha I felt the same way glad to know I am not the only one. I was told that the clomid wouldn't give falsies if you waited long enough to test and I didn't get the pos. until CD17, so Idk..I just wish I did. I know I wish I would have kept on, but I just got frustrated and figured something was wrong and then when DH got sick, he couldn't breathe let alone BD. Maybe since your lines are equally dark today was the highest point of your surge and maybe you ovulated and are heading back down soon. I have heard some say that white creamy CM maybe a sign of pg, but dunno if you would have that this soon. I had very little cm after I kept getting my pos.; it was mostly watery. Hopefully the doctors shed some light for both of us 2morrow. Sticky baby dust to you!

Hm, well, I don't know much about Clomid and I'm sure you're more informed about it than I. I am only on Provera and my dr said he'd put me on Clomid after 3 months of Provera if it didn't work for me.

Lots and lots of luck for us!

I got 6 positive OPK's over a period of a week and a half last month. I decided to try a different strip this month that is less sensitive to LH and so far have gotten four negatives in a row. My doctor suspects that my body made enough LH hormone that it registered positive on the first brand of OPK's and now that I got a less sensitive LH detection brand, it should detect it once I actually am surging. Does that make sense? I hope I explained it correctly!

Yep, totally makes sense. The only thing is that I confirm my digital positives with internet pee strips (since I have ALOT of them) and they both come back positive. Also randomly took them in the morning to be sure and got the negative which is accurate because the digital requires an afternoon or early evening urine so the LH has time to synthesize into the urine.

Stace, did you find anything out from your doctor? My doctor is out today and I am still waiting on her nurse to call me back...uggh!

Stace, just picked up on something you said, do you use your clear blue digi's with fmu?
Its just you put you used one earlier in the day and got a neg. I always thought the digi ones had to be fmu unlike the dip stick ones.

Oh and on a leaflet for opks it says Clomid or any fertility drug can affect the results, so not sure if thats why maybe.

I actually missed his call earlier this afternoon and he said he'll call me tonight. I will definitely keep you posted! I am so mad I missed the call earlier!
7th day of +. Ahhh!

Yes, I use the Clearblue Digis and no, I don't use first morning urine. The other day I DID use FMU as a test to see if the reader was bonkers/broken or not and giving false readings. When I took my test at normal time (second urine of the day), I got positive, just like I have been. I also confirmed the results with internet peesticks, so I know the digital is working correctly.

Sorry for any confusion!

Yes, my doctor told me meds like Clomid and others will affect the results. But that's because drugs like Clomid force ovulation. Provera does not. I had asked him about Provera in the office and he said it does not affect the results. I also looked around online and it seems that he is right.

The positive started before I took the Provera and were consistently negative before that.

Bbdreams your multiple +opks will most probably be from the clomid, it puts your ovaries into overdrive and eveything else that is related to it including your lh hormone, in essence clomid is revving your ovaires up for a big ovulation!

Sorry hun, its just I thought you should use fmu with the digi ones, something to dowith holding your wee for 4 hours and most people use fmu as its easier that way, I know the dip stick ones you dont as the lh is synthasized {sp!!} but pretty sure the digis you do.

Ah I see with regards to the provera, shouldnt be that then

WannaB you may be right. I finally talked to the nurse since my doc. was out and she told me to start taking the Clomid today since I missed it yesterday and she said that the +opks weren't anything to worry about. She said it is possible to have a window that large, so on to CD4 with clomid and we shall see what this month brings.

This is from the ClearBlue site:
3. What time of day should I use the Test?
You may test any time of day, but you should
test at approximately the same time each day.
You should not have urinated for at least 4 hours
before testing.

The reason I used my second urine of the day is because I tend to drink alot before I go to bed and in the middle of the night. I keep a bottle of water next to my bed. So for me, it's better to get all that outta my system since it can dilute the LH in your urine. I have no problem holding urine for another 4 hours after that and I have minimal drinks. It's just what works best for me.

Ah I see, ooh no sure then hun, just thought it may have been an answer. Good luck with what the dr says.

Stace - I am on cd 19 I had negative opk until cd 14 when I ovulated. They have been positive ever since (6 days) I am on my 4th round of clomid my first at 100mg and the other 3 cycles this did not happen I guess we will wait and see

Thanks, Worrisome. I kinda wish that it was me just being dumb and doing something stupid, but I'm really hoping nothing is wrong with me.:sad2:

I have my fingers crossed for you, my dear. Is this now the strongest dose of Clomid you've been on?

yes. The first 2 cycles were 50mg then I had 3 surgeries on my ankle and had to stop ttc for about 6 months. My first round back on clomid was Jan and my dr. had me do 50mg cd 2-6. This month I was on 100mg cd 3-8. I also had to go in for an ultrasound to check the development of the egg and he said that i had released 2. One really big one on the left side and a smaller one on the right side!! keeping my fingers crossed.

I'll be praying for you! I hope that you get a :bfp: in the very near future!!! At least you know you're releasing eggs. I am not sure and here I got these 7 positive OPKs. My dr wants to go the Clomid route after next month if I can't get pg own my own. I'm nervous.
