Hey ladies! I remember being constipated during my last pregnancy with my son, but I feel like it started around 8 weeks when I really started using Zofran consistently for my nausea. But 4 weeks!? As of last week I have still been able to "go" every couple of days, so I'm not completely blocked up... But I know it's coming!

Anyone else suffer from constipation so early!!?

Ugh I'm suffering big time ! At the beginning I was okay , actually posted if it was normal to be so regular during pregnancy ... Well I'm definitely not regular now lol. I just feel like I have to go but it's such a process hahah.
Trying to drink water but it makes me gag and dry heave!

I was so constipated at 4 weeks I had hemmorrhoids for a week that bled and was all over miserable.

Omg thank you ladies for making me feel more "normal" lol I knew it would be a part of the process but I just don't remember it happening this early on! And yes I feel like I have to go constantly!

I've heard of increasing your water intake, prunes, prune juice, fiber, etc so I will try my best but none of that helped last time!

It has been a roller coaster for me. Several times between 12 and 16 weeks I burst vessels in my cervix when straining to go.... Had an emergency scan at 15+6... I don't even want to go again until the baby is here, lol...

Dissolving Metamucil in a glass of fruit juice in the mornings has been helpful.

I'm 5+2 and it started for me last week. It's bloody awful! Didn't really get it with my daughter but this time I feel like I'm ready to explode!

It has to do with your metabolism slowing down when you're pregnant, unfortunately. I would say to do your best to eat healthy and stay hydrated. Lots of water and try to eat good stuff, with fiber like fruits and leafy greens. We're all in this together! *lol*

I have it awful - using progesterone pessaries at the moment which makes things 10x worse and after a whole lot of damage during DD1's birth I was in a pickle a few days ago. Have had to take movicol to get things going :(

Can remember being things being bad with DD1 and tried prune juice (ugh) and was vomiting instead. Vile!

Omg how scary Mrs MB!!

Dobsd- that's what I said! I don't remember it being so bad this quick!

Ser- we are totally in this together! Lol and I'm definitely trying to eat extra healthy now before the morning sickness kicks in and I'm just struggling to eat whatever I can get down!

Hopeful- I imagine the pessaries making it 10x worse! And I'm pretty sure I would vomit with prune juice, morning sickness or not! Lol

You're not alone! With my dd it started around 11-12 weeks. This time it's been since I'd say 5 weeks. It horrible!

Right!! It's like I already feel bloated let alone being blocked up! You think I would be full as nothing is coming out the back end lol but nope! I'm an eating machine right now!

Ha! Yeah. Yesterday I ate a gigantic bowl of cereal, cookies, pretzels, more cereal, cheese and pepperoni, a cucumber salad (2bowls), oatmeal, candy, ice cream, eggs and summer sausage and then a bit more candy.

All while complaining I can't go! Ha.

You are making me feel so much better about eating non stop!! Lol

Wow I'm glad I found this thread. I am 5 weeks today and have been suffering with bad trapped wind and constipation. I have piles from my first pregnancy and find it hard to go any way but now omg... I thought maybe it was my pregnancy seven seas as it has iron in it but I stopped them 2 days lag and just ok folic acid to see if it would make s difference but no. I have been drinking gallons of water bran flakes smoothies yoghurt S fruit veg loads of it and still blocked. So must just be hormones and things slowing down... Sorry for being tmi but it's also very very dark which I thought maybe the iron now I'm not sure. I can't remember it starting this early... It won't harm the baby will it. I have a four year old and had amiss misscarrdige 2 years ago this month. Scared

That was one of my first symptoms. At 4 weeks I was super backed up, and when it did come out, I had the runs. Gas, heartburn. It was and still it pretty bad.

Oh no! Water and fibre should help. Maybe snacking on prunes too?

Hope you don't get too bunged up!!
