My six month old has always struggled with pooping. He's on Nutramigen and is eating purées and occasionally oat cereal. A while back his nutritionist suggested adding a splash of apple juice to his morning bottle. At first it worked like a charm. Then I had to do it every morning. Now it doesn't seem to help. I switched to prune juice, but no help. He eats prune purée a lot, too.
His BMs vary from very solid to toothpaste consistency. In the past few days there have been times when he strains and nothing comes out.
He has a ped appointment on Tuesday, so I'll talk to her then, but I also wanted to check here for advice.
My first pooped 5+ times a day until he was 2, so this is all new!
