I'm just wondering when the time comes, how do we time our contractions? Is it from the start of one til the next one starts or is it the time between the end of one contraction to the other?

I want to know this too! I find it so hard to time them as sometimes they are strong and sometimes they are really weak contractions.

"Time your contractions from the beginning of one contraction to the beginning of the next contraction (not to the end)."

We timed the length of my contraction & the time between them.

I was told to time the length of the contractions (from beginning to end), and to measure how far apart they were (from the beginning of one, to the beginning of the next). If you have a smart phone, there are apps you can use; there are websites (such as thebump.com) that also have contraction timers. If not, a stop watch, or a watch with a second hand should work just fine. ;)

Good luck! :flow:

i think your suppose to time how frequently they come and how long they are .

To time how long they are you obviously time from the beginning of the contraction to the end.

To time how often you get one you time from the beginning of one contraction to the beginning of the next.

I used contraction master (type into google) and all you have to do is press stop and start and it works it all out for you.

you can get an app for your phone on timing contractions ^___^

when I was pregnant, I had this phone app, it's called contraction calculator, and it's totally free. All you have to do is push start and stop, and it will time your contractions, and the length in between them, and give you the average length the contractions are and the time in between. I used this when I started going into labor, and I had an idea that I was because my contractions wouldn't go away no matter what I did, and they got stronger over time. But for me, my contractions started at 3 mins apart, 1 minute long, and stayed that way all through the labor and birth rather than getting closer together like it says in the books.

theres this one too if you can't get an app: https://contractionmaster.com/
