Anyone else noticed a ridiculous hike in the price of formula recently?
Up until a month or so ago it was about 7.80, then it jumped to 8.49, and today was 8.99
if you think thats bad it costs close to 16.00GBP here for 900g of Aptamil! needless to say i have requested that my friends bring it when they come on holiday!!
I think Aptamil is the more expensive one. I've paid £7.25-£7.50 for SMA all along, although I did once get caught sort and end up paying 99p for a 250ml carton! Everything in the supermarkets has gone up though, thanks to the cost of fuel being so high....thank you Mr Darling!! At one stage I was going through a can every 4 days!! Gets expensive then lol.
C&G went up too at the start of the year from £6.80-ish to £7.25!! We're changing onto the 6 month+ stuff now Joe is older as we have money off coupons which help a bit x
The 2 for £10 offers you often get on follow on milks do make them tempting but I had a horrible experience when we tried Earl on hungry baby milk and don't fancy changing......He's happy enough, guess I'm just going to have to sell an organ or something lol.
I feel your pain we are on two cartons a week atm lord knows how much we will need when they are on more as they are only two months old - oh well at least it wasnt triplets x
i dont think its expensive wait till they are toddlers, it will cost a lot more to feed them then
everything generally has gone up in price recently, and the vat going back to 17.5% didnt help either
For a 12-oz. can of powder (340 grams), I pay about $23 USD, which comes to about 16 pounds. The store brand is a lot cheaper but I'm not as sure of the quality, so I'm going broke buying formula here!
I just use my healthy start vouchers towards it, i usually get 8 vouchres a month and its about 3 for a tin of aptamil, so i usually get 3 at a time with them, x
Oh my goodness, thats ridiculous!!!
I'm not worried about LO as a toddler, as our food bill is only £30 a week for me and OH, so feeding LO shouldn't be too bad as he'll eat what we eat.
I just couldn't believe the price going up twice in the past few months, its about 15% increase. But compared to some of the non-UK mums it sounds like we have it ok!
