I'm doing my babies room with an owl theme but trying to find cot bedding with bumper and curtains that match is proving difficult.

I have bought a duvet cover and a normal cot bed quilt but I'm not sure it's safe for baby to use straight away?

Can anyone help? I can find a lot in America but Shipping is expensive. Ideally in the uk. Oh and it's for a girl

Thank you

I'd scrap the bumper. They are a suffocation hazard in wee ones cot. it's better to go without.
My son had blankets until he was about 10 months old, I found with baby grow and sleep suit, a blanket was enough to keep him warm. I personally wouldn't use a duvet on such a tiny baby, not until they are capable of kicking it off if it's too warm

As far as bedding sets go, I cannot help. I can't find anything remotely even like what I want haha. I'm roping in my grandma in law to help me make my own.

I don't know about bedding sets, but I saw some nice sleeping bags on ebay that had owls on, if you were planning to use sleeping bags at all. I think they were John Lewis. They were unisex colours.

Thanks ladies.

I guess that makes it easier if I scrap the bumper. I just assumed you had to have one. So new to this it terrifies me hehe. My house is very cold so I'm not sure a sleeper and blanket will be ok on its own. I won't be using the blanket though. Baby won't be in the cot straight away anyway.

Thanks again :)

I agree with scrapping the bumper, I've read too many warnings that I don't want to use one either.

Love your owl theme, maybe you could get suiting colors for the duvet? We're doing a woodland creature theme (foxes, hedgehogs, raccoon etc) so what ever I can't find that matches those I'll probably go for dark browns.

I think I'll have to get some match pink white and purple bedding cause I'm having no luck at all.

Thank you. Your theme sounds so cute :)

This is a baby sleeping bag, it has owls on and detachable arms. The only thing is its a Spanish shop and not sure if you can get it over there

Oh my goodness Calm, that is absolutely adorable!

It is, I've had my eye on it for a while. Its a bit girly, but not pink as its actually lilac, so I might be able to get away with it for one of my boys :haha:

This is such a long shot, but I guess it's worth a go. I also don't know what your views on second hand stuff is, but if you go here - https://www.facebook.com/groups/194513817251518/?fref=nf
It's a Facebook group that's for people selling/giving things away local(ish) to me. If you go on there, you may have to join the group, or it may be an open one. There is a girl there called 'Jade Emma Missing' with a post very near the top where she is selling an owl nursery set for £30ono.
If you could get in touch with her, maybe she could arrange delivery for you if you agreed to pay her a bit more?
Worth a go!

Hi thank you, with it being my first I would like everything new. Especially bedding. I may check it out if I get really stuck though thanks again. Xx

There seems to be alot more choice if you know the sex of baby. Are you team yellow? Came across this which is cute and very reasonably priced too. https://m.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us...Olive-and-Henri-CotCotbed-Bedding-Set/0085355. Dunelm often have owl themed things in for nurserys but abit hit and miss on whats available if that makes sense x

I saw that on huni, I think it's abit more for boys. I'm having a girl or at least they are 98% sure. Been looking for pink or white but can't find anything I like. Looked on dunelm website too there isn't much, perhaps I need to go to the store.
Thank you hun :)

The bumper issue is confusing. I had one with my son, but then I read a which? Recommendation, that said no cot bumpers, quilts, duvets or anything heavy to avoid baby overheating.
It's so worrying having a baby, as if there aren't enough worries as it is!

It sure is Gnomer.so confusing and worrying, especially with your first. I guess I will learn as I go. :)
I think I'll stick with blankets until baby is old enough to kick off a quilt if she gets to hot. And ill forget the bumper unless I get one of the breathable ones I've seen :)

I found this site that ships globally. They have TONS of owl-themed nursery sets for your LO.

This one is my favorite!:

That is so beautiful and totally what I'm after :) I need to work out the measurements though, I have a cot bed so it's a little larger than a standard size cot.

Thank you so much. It is beautiful :)
