Could use a hug

I wasn't sure where to post this so I thought I would try here. I apologize for the lengthy thread, but I greatly appreciate those who stop by and read it. I have a couple worries on my hand. First, I normally have 28-29 CD and just recently I had a couple of 27 CD and last cycle was 26 days. Last time I saw this short of cycles was when I was a teen 15 yrs ago(yes I am 30). Also I used to have AF for 6 days then it dropped to 4 or 5 days. My other worry is endometriosis. It runs strong in my family on both sides. I have read it might be hereditary and might not. My concern with that is my Aunt on my dad's side had endometriosis so bad it wrapped around her intestines and she had a MC at 8 weeks when trying for another one. With that being said I am afraid I have endo so bad I won't be able to conceive. As far as symptoms for endo go I have(before AF): lots of gas and bloating, low back ache, and cramps bad enough for Midol. I have read you can be pain free and have lots of endo and be in lots of pain and have very little if any endo. Those that have had either short cycles or endo would you mind sharing success stories ending in BFP? Also what can I do to not stress? I have read that exercising 4 hrs a week can help reduce endo. I am open to any advice and opinions. Thanks everyone! :)

Hi Angel

I am not sure if I can help or not as I am still TTC. What I do know is that I too had longer cycles when I was a teen and then they shortened while on birth control and now they vary from 27-32 days with spotting for 3-4 days before af starts. That said, my mom had endometriosis and as a result I have become concerned about it. What I have been told when I bring it up is that more than likely you would know if you had it. There are certain symptoms that are constant like having painful sex or bowel movements, super heavy periods- like going through more than 1-2 pads per hour- soaking them not just changing them cause you can- and then of course if you go for one year without conceiving and they do an ultra sound and find it. More than likely though it would have been found when doing your annual or whatever... as for your shorter cycle, maybe try some opks and see when you ovulate in the cycle to make sure your leutal phase is at least 10 days. I think as long as you are more than 21 days it is normal and stress along with any diet or exercise changes can interfere with ovulation as is normal for you so maybe cut back on exercising and see how that works and the next time you are at the doctor's office tell them your concerns and see what they say.

:dust::dust::dust::hug::hug::hug::hug: i hope everything works out for you.

Hey Angel,

Try not to worry too much, as long as ur cycles are over 21 days and you AF is staying in that 4-5 day range you are looking good.

I recommend opk testing. I've been trying for months with no luck finally did opk testing this month and found out i ovulate at a completely different time than i thought and had been missing the mark. Exercising is good 30 minutes a day my doctor said can definitely put you in the right direction. Sending baby dust your way. :hugs:

Thank you for your post :)I feel better knowing I'm not alone. :)

Angle defiantly not alone. It's so hard not to freak out when things are not going as quickly or as smoothly as we want, and I'm the first to admit I jump on google for medical advice way too often lol even though I'm a nurse and know it scares more than it helps. I hope this month stuck for us but I started getting my tell tail signs AF is right around the bend :hissy:
I'm hoping shes not.

Baby dust to you hope opk testing works for you!:hugs:

I agree that you shouldnt be too worried about shorter cycles. Really, at this point I would be worried about longer ones then shorter. (longer would typically mean not ovulating) So, if your cycles are shorter then it seems that perhaps you are just ovulating sooner so I would just plan accordingly and start BD sooner than normal. :)
