Lucas is 19 weeks now (born 30th March) and I have a friend who's son was born the day before him, next week at 20 weeks she will say her DS is 5 months but I would say Lucas is 5 months on 30th of the month.

Just wondering how you ladies count age and if I'm doing it wrong lol

Agree with Minties. With your friends method they'll turn 1 four weeks before their birthday.

Every month isn't exactly 4 weeks so counting it as such is completely wrong. If your child was born on the 30th then he'd be another month older on the 30th of every month.

I usually just say he'll be X months on the 20th. So he'll be 8 months on the 20th :)

I stop going by weeks around 12 weeks old. From there I just say how many months she is. I go up to the next month on the 9th of each month.

Same here!

As an aside- I also find it gets hard to track when people say "my baby is 60 weeks". To me 14 months is much more meaningful. :)

Lol I get confused with the weeks now let alone at 69 weeks

I give you props for knowing your baby is 19 weeks. I gave up at 8 weeks lol

This bugs me so so much!

2 people who had babies around Amelia did the same thing - one of them was born the same day as Mimi and we're colleagues, so also friends on facebook. She kept saying oh little ___ is 6 months or whatever about 2 weeks before they were actually 6 months - which then made me look a bit dumb putting it up when it was actually the right time.

Then somebody i made friends with was doing the weeks/months thing and in the end i mocked her (nicely) saying, oh i'll make sure to buy ___'s birthday present in April (he was 1 in May)...which made her very confused until she worked it out and then realised how silly she was being!

does it really matter if someone says their child is x Month old 10 days before the actual date they were born on? at the begining of august i would say M was 16 months, he was born on the 20th. no bodys asking for a exact day to day age of a child :haha:

If someone asks you then I can see why you would just go 16 months or whatever, but when you're specifically putting a post on Facebook to say my baby is 6 months/half a year etc...yes it does matter!!!

if i post on facebook id say 16 months, if someone asked me id say almost a year and half! i could just tell them his D.O.B they can work it out in weeks if it bothers them :haha:

Thanks for this - I was confused too.

My baby is 11 weeks but only 2 months (will be 3 months on Sept.4) so I was confused a bit.

Its hard enough keeping track that shes 11 weeks... to the 60 week lady ... good on you lol.

Ill probably stop saying weeks after 12 weeks. My mind is way to frazzled to hold that many dates. :haha:

I say weeks up until about 3 months and then I lose track so start saying months and then by 2 I use years.

I just round up or down to the closest month. Sometimes say 5.5 months if it's in the middle.
