I left my husband with our 10 day old daughter whilst I took our other daughter to the shop with my Nana. I was gone for just over an hour but had fed her right before I left.

Apparently whilst I was gone she got hungry and cried the entire time (she was unsettled before I left but I had tried to offer her more milk and she was just grumping - I don't think she was actually desperate for food).

I thought my husband was joking when he said he'd given her cow's milk - he said he dipped his finger in a little dish "three or four times" and stuck it in her mouth. He's had a stomach bug and says he wasn't thinking properly.

Is this likely to cause her any problems?

No, I can't imagine a very tiny amount would cause many problems, it's just harder to digest and doesn't offer the right combination of nutrients. At worst she might have a bit of a tummy ache until it's digested.

I wouldn't have left my LO without pumped milk at that age though, honestly, even if it was just an hour. She may not have been starving but I'm sure not having milk as a go-to comfort or if she was feeling a bit snacky made things harder all around.

I agree it likely wouldn't cause a problem. Next time I'd just leave a bit of expressed milk too just in case :) at that age my lo's were constantly looking to nurse :)

Thanks for replying! I should have expressed but we have been so disorganised this time around that I haven't managed to track down the bottles and all the bits to my pumps etc. I also convinced myself I'd only be gone for half an hour, but everything I do lately seems to take twice as long as I anticipate!

Prior to giving birth I was doing a great job of 'nesting' - I finished off all sorts of DIY jobs, got all of the rooms usable etc (we bought the house two years ago and it's been a bit of a project ever since!). I was so close to having a house I wasn't embarrassed to show to friends, but after two nights in hospital after giving birth, I got home to discover my 2 year old, my husband and MIL had made a mess and it's just got worse since. Hopefully I'll be able to find all the bits once I'm back on top of everything!

I think I probably would have been more angry that he was putting his fingers in her mouth after having a stomach bug!
